According to UFC Brazilian executive Giovanni Decker, 32,000 tickets sold within the first 90 minutes after they went on sale Wednesday. Those figure include pre-sale tickets.

That initial surge alone would already place the May 14 card at the outdoor Arena de Baixada as the third-highest attended show in UFC history, behind UFC 193 in Melbourne, Australia (56,214) and UFC 129 in Toronto (55,724). A sellout at Arena de Baixada would be approximately 45,000 tickets.

Fight Card:
Fabricio Werdum vs. Stipe Miocic for Heavyweight Title
Vitor Belfort vs. Ronaldo Souza
Corey Anderson vs. Mauricio Rua
Matt Brown vs. Demian Maia
Uriah Hall vs. Anderson Silva
Patrick Cummins vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira
Warlley Alves vs. Bryan Barberena
Yancy Medeiros vs. Francisco Trinaldo
Nate Marquardt vs. Thiago Santos
Sergio Moraes vs. Kamaru Usman
Renato Moicano vs. Zubaira Tukhugov
Rob Font vs. John Lineker

193 really opened the UFC's eyes to stadium shows. You can lower prices to attract a bigger crowd while turning a larger profit. Of course they can only do so on specific cards, but if you need to stack a card to attract a sizeable crowd anyway, due to the Brazilian economy, then a stadium show fits perfectly. I hope it makes for a good atmosphere on tv.

A lot of older dog, but a tone of. Brazilian star power. I'm still actually pretty shocked. 2/3rds of the stadium in 90 minutes. Crazy.

Does that include resalers/vendors?

That's the reason why it sold out in like 5mins in the UK and why I rarely trust those numbers. But yeah its a great card with huge names so I expect it'll do well.

I am really excited for this card. I kinda wish they could have had Aldo on it too. This is going to be a great celebration of Brazilian MMA.

I would've been one of those first 32k if I was anywhere near that venue.
That's a long swim.
