I hope this ends the debate on whether Holly is willing to fight Cyborg at a catch weight. It's like I've been saying, there is a difference between talking about doing something and actually doing it. Holly has nothing going on right now. She has no fight lined up and no talk of a potential fight. This was her chance to back up the tough talk about being willing to fight Cyborg at a catch weight and when Dana called her bluff, she backed out, just like I thought she would.

Holm versus Cyborg would have been amazing. Cyborg versus Leslie Smith, who gives a fuck.

Well, we know at least one fighter in the women's bantamweight division that turned down a short notice fight with Cris Cyborg at UFC 198. No, not Ronda Rousey. The other former champion, Holly Holm. In an interview with the Albuquerque Journal Holm's manager, Lenny Fresquez, revealed that the UFC offered his fighter the chance to face Cyborg, but it's a fight they're "not interested in" right now.
Holly Holm's camp turned down Cyborg fight, wants Tate or Rousey rematch

At least she's honest about it instead of making excuses. I can respect that.

I believe i called it by process of elimination, she was the only one that made sense. So maybe Holm vs Tate 2 at 200 seems like it could be possible now.

Yea her honest excuse is she's waiting for an imaginary fight to sprout out of nowhere and that's why she can't take a fight she's asked for.
Or maybe she feels Cyborg isn't a good matchup for her and turned down the fight and will openly admit it instead of talking in circles.

Better than saying she's willing to move up to fight Gina Carano but unwilling to move up to fight Cyborg

She hasn't admitted that. You would be a better manager for her than her current one .
You sure?

Holly Holm made $2.2 million for losing to Miesha Tate in UFC 196 on 3/5/2016. Holm earned $500,000 to show. She also received an estimated $200,000 in endorsement money. Miesha Tate earned only $92,000.

Apart from prize money, Holm also took in an estimated $1.5 million in Pay-Per-View earnings for the night.

I'll wait until all the fights are announced up to summer time before judging, she might have a better opportunity or is actively pushing for one for all we know.

Gina has never tested positive for PED's. Ronda has been consistent in maintaining she would fight Cyborg for the 135 title AT 135. I am beginning to think that either Dana/and management either told Holly not to be taking a fight with an opponent from another weight class and league as it would not be beneficial for the money making venture that is the UFC. Same with Meisha. I think this Cyborg/Smith fight is one of two things. 1. A last opportunity for Cyborg (with her remaining 4 fights on Zuffa contract) to come to 140, see how she performs, then possibly 135 OR. 2. A scheme to see Cyborg "miss weight" and usher her out the door with the, "We gave you numerous opportunities, but you blew it".

Seems obvious that she is holding out for a rematch against Meisha and wants to avenge her only loss in MMA something Ronda didnt want to do.

I understand why she would. The next fight she's going to have (in all likelihood) would be a rematch with Miesha (title fight) or a rematch with Rousey (super fight).

This isn't a situation like Ronda had, where she went through the entire division, had no one else to fight and still ducked Cyborg. Holly has better options.

Just as I figured. Holly has a ton of acceptable excuses for dodging a fight with Cyborg and Ronda doesn't. The fact is, she turned down the fight after saying a couple of weeks ago she would take it. Her bluff got called and she punked out. Like Holly, both Miesha and Ronda have said they would take the fight if asked to do it but they for different reasons prefer the fight happen at 135 lbs.

I'm enjoying this deconstruction of Holly's fake "real fighter" persona. She says she doesn't fight for money, yet as La Paix @BirdWatcher revealed she's entirely in it for the biggest pay days. She says she'll fight anyone...but as we've come to find out,,,as long as it's not Cyborg. I'm not impressed. I would love to know if Cyborg accepted the fight with Holly.

I could not imagine caring this much about why a fighter did or did not take a fight.
