how do you know it doesn't mean anything? even Cormier admitted it affected him in the buildup first time round

yeah we might not know for sure till they fight but no harm in talking about all the facets leading up to the events

There is harm though.
The build up is too much. And then fighters get "injuries".
And we get nothing from the social media back and forth bullshit.

maybe YOU get nothing, but WE get plenty :D

social media is a form of communication, but you know that, you're on a forum

at the end of the day, it's a fighters responsibility to prepare for a fight, and if they crumble mentally at a handful of comments then maybe they need to seek counseling, find a new job or at least develop thicker skin. If all we knew about fighters was what we saw during the fight, the whole sport would be pretty boring and forums would be ghost towns.

What do you get out of all the Twitter bullshit when DC and Jones are not going to fight?

material for shoops, a good laugh, a preview into a fighters online or real persona, additional hype for when they do fight etc

(emphasis mine)

I feel like that is demeaning counseling. Almost everyone at every level would benefit from counseling.

(Don't mind me... I'm just touchy on mental health issues and how the public portrays them... I just needed to say that)
