Nope, never watched college basketball til the late 90's....was already down south for a decade by then....Shane Battier is what initially drew me to being a Duke fan, he was a great college leader.
Grew up an Army fan in college football and when I found out Coach K was a point guard and one of Bobby Knights assistants at West Point it sealed the deal for me as a fan since. I've got to witness three of Coach K's 5 championships as a fan and it's been enjoyable as hell. I've been in basketball country for about 25 years, eventually you have to pick a team and it's ride or die from then on out.
Every other team in the sports that I've been following since I was a kid are NY teams....Yanks, Giants, Rangers, Knicks, Cosmos(the original ones, you're probably too young to remember them), and I did pull for one NJ team in the 80's though...the Generals
