After his knockout win over Andrei Arlovski, the Dutch heavyweight striker is in line for a title shot and already has his eyes set on champion Fabricio Werdum.

With his dominant stoppage victory over Andrei Arlovski, Dutch striking powerhouse Alistair Overeem has punched his ticket to a fight for the UFC heavyweight championship. The title is currently in possession of Fabricio Werdum, who will defend it against Stipe Miocic at UFC 198 this weekend.

For Overeem, it doesn't matter who of the two will emerge victorious and go on to face him next, although he admits that him and Werdum have their share of history together.

UFC probably go with Cain before Reem.
i have a good feeling this time ufc will be smart enough to go with the guy who doesnt get injured every 2 minutes, especially cause of all the history between werdum and overeem but who knows.

Maybe. But most likely the scenario u've mentioned will be after Cain pulls out of Werdum/Cain 2 due to injury.

That is if Werdum beats Miocic

Waste of a title shot. He should have to fight Big Ben again.

If Werdum and Cain both win then Overeem vs Cain makes the most sense to me. From a business perspective, it makes sense for a guy who has been injured as frequently and as long as Cain should have to prove he can stay healthy for three consecutive fights.
But if Cain wins, and a tough task that will be, and looks good doing so then....Overeem and Rothwell may have a rematch coming and what about JDS?
