The Return of Lee Murray?

THE cage fighter behind the £53million Securitas raid is training “like a lunatic” in a hell-hole jail for a Comeback fight. Lee Murray wants to fight CBB's Alex Reid. Lee Murray, 38, dubbed “The Stopwatch” after planning the violent 2006 heist, wants to face Katie Price’s ex husband. Former Celebrity Big Brother star Alex Reid is returning to cage fighting at the age of 40 because he is broke. Murray, who is behind bars in Morocco, has recruited two Thai boxers to get him fighting fit. The violent armed robber is convinced he will soon be freed after seeing his pal and accomplice Paul Allen released after serving just six years of an 18-year sentence.

I'd watch, lee has a mean streak in him......always up for a fight.

Shit, the man almost caused the UK to run out of money (if securitas insurers didn't agree to cover the loss, securitas out of business and a ton of cash not accessible)......

@Leigh , I believe knew him......

I know a little about this. Lee didn't have much skill at the time and gassed hard. Alex was a much more seasoned combat athlete and was winning. Alex told me that he really disliked Lee (around 1999, 2000) but they went on to become training partners after that. I'm surprised Lee still wants to fight him.

I guess it depends on what has been said since........
Who would win Leigh? If both were in best shape? I know I'm grasping at straws and you are a guy who knows both and would probably rather avoid this question but curious.........if you are ok to give an opinion.

You ever get a chance to spar with Lee at all?

I get on with both guys. IMHO, Lee is the better MMA fighter. Alex may have an edge in striking, although Lee hits really hard. Lee is a better grappler but won't use it. He'll always try to punch someone and although it might work, the blue print for fighting Alex is to take him down.

Didn't have much skill? He went to a decision with Anderson and his only other loss is being submitted by Doerkson. No shame in either of those. In addition to his list of KO's he subbed Jorge Rivera who, while not a world beater, is a pretty damn good fighter. Plus he has a KO over Jacob Ortiz Sr!!

IIRC before the heist, he actually had his triangle of Rivera painted on the ceiling of a room in his house. No joke. I never saw a pic of it, but I always picture it in my head like some Sistine Chapel shit. Makes me giggle.

Murray almost beat Anderson Silva , Reid lost every round in a celeb match and was praised for it

shit, even Murray's TKO over Tito is better than Reid's whole career, although fair play to the guy.

Ive seen a pic of the mural. Ill try to find it later. I think it was on the wall in his living room.

All of that was well after his fight with Alex. He learned his skills after that fight.

Gotcha. Didn't read that in proper context. Didn't know you were speaking of a single fight but thought you were referring to Lee's skill set in general.

The book that was written on this is great. Basically would have been clear if a couple of dumb fucks didn't leave the boiler suits in their fucking flat.......also, the U.K. Underground gangsters were pissed of he didn't "run this by them"..........so, he had that going against him also. He apparently refused to cut anyone else in on it.....

Lee Murray had some nasty hands. I remember they were trying to set up Murray vs Diesel Riggs (back when Riggs was a monster obviously), that would have been great.

There were too many people involved for the heist to ever succeed IMO. No way in hell all that was going to be kept under wraps.
