As Combate reported, former UFC welterweight title challenger Thiago Alves has an opponent and a date to make his lightweight debut, as he prepares to take on The Ultimate Fighter 15 runner up, Al Iaquinta, at UFC 202, on August 20. UFC officials have not confirmed the booking themselves.

A ten-year Octagon veteran, Alves (21-10) has been fighting exclusively at welterweight for his entire career, but a loss to Carlos Condit in May of 2015 snapped his two-fight winning streak over Jordan Mein and Seth Baczynski, sending "Pitbull" down to 155 pounds for the first time.

I think he's fighting at this lower weight class because he got off the stuff, due to USADA. He's probably lost 15 lbs of muscle mass.
