The "Let's Get It On" podcast had big shoes to fill with the departure of legendary referee John McCarthy. The show is about to make a major splash in replacing him, though.

Ben Askren and Joe Warren will be the new co-hosts of the show alongside Sean Wheelock, sources told MMA Fighting. An announcement is expected Tuesday and the first episode will be posted Friday.

McCarthy, who founded the podcast along with Wheelock early last year, announced he would be leaving earlier this month. The godfather of MMA officials recently moved to Las Vegas and has taken on more work as a boxing judge in Nevada in addition to his countless refereeing gigs around the world. "Big John" didn't feel like he could give as much time to the podcast as it deserved as a host, but will remain on as executive producer, sources said.

Askren and Warren have a relationship with Wheelock going back to their days in Bellator. Both are known for their outspokenness. Askren and Warren also have a friendship going back to their days as highly decorated Olympic-level wrestlers.

This could be what the show needs, BJM and Wheel lock just couldn't keep me interested for a whole show. Am I wrong in thinking that Warren is like Sonnen in that he just spits BS a lot?

Love the show and glad its continuing. Not for everyone but the dork in me loves the rules discussions and the regulatory aspects canvassed. Not sure if it will be the same without BJM's depth of knowledge though.

Askren has a podcast? hahahahahha....

Timeline:

Wheelock @ 0:01: "hey everybody, Sean Wheelock here with the debut episode of the...'

Askren Interrupts: *Complains* *whines* *bitches* about anything, everyone and everything

*repeat ad naseum until end of show*

Has anyone ever heard that guy say anything that wasn't him just being an over the top malcontent whiny bitch?

Hopefully. Warren seems to put on quite the schtick on camera, not sure if it'll translate well for long periods at a time. Both guys are knowledgeable so hopefully it's worth subscribing to again

I had a hilarious response, but give the no tolerance toward fighter "bashing" I refrained. Warren and Askren are a perfect match. I'll leave it at that.
