Bob Meyrowitz named to UFC Hall of Fame

One of the men who helped create the UFC will soon take his place in the company's Hall of Fame.

UFC co-creator Bob Meyrowitz was named to the Contributors Wing of the Hall of Fame on Wednesday, the company announced. He'll be inducted during the UFC Fan Expo on July 10 in Las Vegas.

Meyrowitz was an executive with the Semaphore Entertainment Group, a Hollywood company which specialized in pay-per-view television. He worked with fellow SEG exec Campbell McClaren and Rorion Gracie to put on UFC 1 on Nov. 12, 1993 in Denver.

What is terrible is that the UFC is doing a top 200 ufc fighter countdown. They sent out a huge list for writers to vote on and Frank isn't even on the list.

Then they ran 200-150 the other night and had Liz Carmouche ahead of Tank Abbott LOL
Fuck that list and any list the UFC tries to make to honor the history of the sport.

Should Meyrowitz be in the HOF? Of course. I thought he and Lorenzo had a deep grudge against each other though dating back almost 10 years to that CSNBC show and we all know how Zuffa likes to blackball anybody and everybody that they dont agree with.

Robert "Bob" Meyrowitz is the co-creator of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).[1][2]He was the owner of the UFC until he sold it toZuffa in 2001.[3] He is also the creator of the radio program the King Biscuit Flower Hour. In the late 1980s he started Semaphore Entertainment Group (SEG), which was one of the first groups to develop content for Pay Per View. In 1999, Meyrowitz created Eyada.com, the first internet radio station.

In January 2008, Meyrowitz announced the formation of his new MMA company, YAMMA Pit Fighting.[4][5] YAMMA was a joint venture between Meyrowitz's company, Rope Partners, and Live Nation. Yamma folded the same year, holding only one event on April 11, 2008.

i agree 100%, dana has turned the UFC media into a side show. i wouldnt be surprised to see him and tinyswole #1 and #2 on the list.
