The UFC is in serious talks with former heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar to have him fight at UFC 200 on July 9 in Las Vegas, multiple sources confirmed with MMA Fighting.

Both sides are close to finalizing a deal, and if all goes well, Lesnar's return to mixed martial arts could be announced imminently.

While talks are progressing well between Lesnar and the UFC, an opponent for Lesnar isn't close to being finalized. It is unclear at this time who is under consideration.

Wonder who they'll match him up with? Please let it be Mark Hunt.

Roy could be the smart or stupid move.
Everybody could be in the HW div, and knowing that Lesnar doesn't handle getting punched well...

My intuition just says it seems Roy would be a good bet on a) fame and marketability and b) danger (other than that big right and a decent uppercut, does he possess any other dangerous strikes?)

True but most HW I feel Brock could bulldoze and work that GNP

It has to be Fedor.

Any other HW would jump at the opportunity.

Why else would they not confirm the opponent... The fight is 1 month out.

Hunt is waiting in the wings in case the Fedor negotiations fall through.

Fedor would be amazing. And as relevant as a fight can get for either of them. Neither of them are going to make a run, so why not just make a great superfight!

I couldn't be less excited about this announcement but then Wild @Wild suggested he fight Hunt.
I would watch that fight.

Even Brock is too live of an opponent for Fedor. That ship sailed.

sooooo anyone think this could end up being ... well .. more tragic than DaDa 5000 vs Kimbo Slice?

As much as I'd love to see that fight, Fedor is not fighting two fights within 30 days at age 39. If he goes to ufc, I would have Fedor fight Werdum for his first ufc fight.
He also wouldn't be fighting in anything other than a main event.
