What's the appeal of this guy?

It's not my intention to be an asshole. I don't get it and I'm just generally curious what it is.

He is legitimately a top 5 athlete the UFC has ever had imo.. and he's gigantic. He moves like a lightweight but he's a heavyweight. He fought Frank Mir in his second career fight, and had the UFC title within 4 fights. He really is a special specimen.

I did not get it during his first run in the UFC when people were going nuts. I think it is his size, Rogan would go on and on about his size and "lunch box" hands. Or maybe some like the penis tattoo on his chest?
I have give him credit now for coming in and fighting Hunt.

I'm curious to hear what Zuffa offered WWE for Brock.
I can't imagine what it was to be beneficial for both sides.

I'm always gonna be a mark for the heavyweight division. I haven't always rooted for Brock but I've never missed a fight of his either. To me Hunt vs Lesnar is as close to a pride matchup that we will ever see so I love it. Plus I have tickets and the atmosphere around that event is going to be out of this world.

The UFC wants him because he's a freakish monster and he has a huge following among the WWE nerds, I mean fans. He sells so many tickets because so many people from wrasslin think he's the best and so many MMA fans want to see him take a beating. I don't personally hate the guy. I think he is an absolute freak. I just wish he would've started training in MMA at an early age. With his size and athleticism he could've been an all time great.

Plus I like the big pee pee tattoo on his chest.

Whether true or not I believe Dana said that Brock was always under contract. He said he retired due to his sickness but still had fights on his deal and the ufc let him go to wwe for money.

I have heard before of him "moving like a LW". I know it's hyperbole but can you post some gifs or recall some things he's done to get this comparison please? I'll give him he's quick in scrambles for a huge man and can charge guys but if I'm thinking LWs I'm thinking about great footwork mainly along with good angles, ckunters and so on.

idk man... i just don't know. i believe he appeals to non-hardcore mma fans.. like people that wouldn't buy a ufc card or go to the bar to watch ufc will do it the night he is on a card.. he appeals to the uneducated mma fan because of his popularity and his size, for the most part, in my opinion. & not uneducated as in stupid, uneducated as in doesn't understand mma much: the guards, the sweeps, the difference between great striking and good striking, the whole technical aspect

Ive never cared much for Lesnar, he did well in his push to be the UFC star. Dana and his push machine played the hand well. Had Lesnar started from stratch i dont think he would have made it to the top.

Well firstly you nailed it, it is a bit of hyperbole.

I am basing this off of people who claim to have trained with him, both in football and MMA, and by watching him with the WWE. I have never seen a man of his size move like he does. I think more accurate would be he moves like a WW or a REALLY athletic MW, but you get the gist.

Fair enough but again can you give any specific examples of in cage displays of this? I'm slowly getting on the Brock hype or more accurately deciding to not return to the side that critiques his every move and tries to hack him down. I'm happy he's returning as HW is in need of any help possible but there seems to always be so much hyperbole and hype that comes with him but I don't see to much evidence. Maybe years ago when I was too stubborn to realize his talent or was flying around and I just chose to dismiss it, I dunno. I've watched all his fights many times and he's agile as hell for a huge dude but this comparison is tough to support for me still.

You are still trying to get me to prove hyperbole. I have seen all of his fights, but most of my experience has been watching him in the WWE. I am not gonna go through clips to show you what I am talking about. If you don't see that he is a special athlete and you have watched a bunch of what he does, I doubt I am going to convince you with gifs.

Lol. Sorry man I'm not trying to pin you down for a gif or anything. Your last post there is completely agreeable though, he is no doubt a special athlete but I see few if any ways he can be compared to anyone outside of his weight class, that's all.

I feel you. I was trying to not sound defensive haha I might have failed.

You really don't think he moves like a lighter person? I really haven't heard that point argued before. That's why I am having a hard time- I pretty much always see it that way. I would have a hard time finding a specific example where he looked faster or more agile than before. Have you seen him wrestle much? Even the way he gets into the ring is impressively agile for an almost 300 pounder.

And this might be my issue

1) So many make the comparison but I can't remember any specific examples (at least right now)

2) If examples were given its most likely one showing off his wrestling and I don't know much about wrestling. I said earlier I know he quick in scrambles and rushes but beyond that I'm gonna need a Robin Black type breakdown to highlight more I think.

I totally get you there. I don't know if I can offer that substance. Haha I just love watching the guy. I think we can both at least agree that he is a special athlete.
