Personally, I like when they hang out.

She uses those boobs for viewership and now she's complaining that it's harder for women to break into the field? Just seems a little hypocritical.
I think the flaw in your line of thinking here is the idea that she wears stuff like that "for" something. Every time a woman has some skin showing it isn't because she is using it for something. She might just like the shirt. It's not like she said "I'm gonna wear this and it's gonna make me a more popular reporter". You interpreting her showing skin as her using her femininity as a way to get into reporting is just the issue that she is addressing here.

To simplify, she says that things are harder for women because even when she wears a shirt with a moderate amount of cleavage people on the internet say that she is using sexuality to further her career.

She wears those shirts to show off her fake boobs and to exploit a market of horny men for money. It's her job. To say she wears them just cause she likes them seems kind of naive.

She's also very flirty in her interviews, which makes her line of thinking even more flawed.

Once again, you are perpetuating the exact mind state that she is speaking of.

Think of it this way. Have you ever watched a news/sports program because of the hot female journalists? No. You haven't. Nobody has, at least not enough of us to make a dent in the Nielsen ratings. You say that she is doing it to exploit horny men. Which horny men? We live in a world with instant porn 24/7 on our smart phones for free. There is nobody out there watching Karyn Bryant because she shows cleavage sometimes.

If you ask women why they show cleavage, most of the time you won't get "so guys can see the tops of my boobs" as an answer. Yes, showing a bit might make them feel better about themselves, but don't call my ideas naïve while proposing the idea that a female anchor shows a bit of cleavage because it is accompanied with a ratings hike. Just doesn't add up, and that is an antiquated state of mind.

You also mentioned her being flirty, which is frequently attributed to female reporters much more often than male reporters. I think people are too quick to cry racism or sexism in this society, but there are some gripes that make sense to me. I am not calling you a sexist because I don't know you very well and I have typically enjoyed you here, I just wanted to provide some perspective and suggest that you are perhaps missing the point a bit.

She's complaining about a phenomenon she actively perpetuates.

"Rampage, please stop. That's degrading to women. We totally can't upload this to our YouTube. That would be inappropriate."

Women being sexualized is not the fault of the women, especially when they are being criticized for showing a minimal amount of cleavage.

Also, that Rampage video has a lot of views because it's Rampage doing something inappropriate. Karyn took it nicely and posted the video, but are you really claiming that this is her perpetuating a sexist culture? She was having a bit of fun. They don't have to strike down everything that is sexual about them in order to be taken seriously, and that is not what I am saying here.

I am saying that showing cleavage does not make her a hypocrite, because we cannot assume that her showing cleavage is the reason that she got her job, or the reason that she is successful. You are doing that in a way, and that's exactly what she is talking about.

If a woman purposely shows a significant amount of cleavage as Karen often does on-screen, she has opened herself up to be objectified sexually. Again, she knows damn well what she's doing with those puppies.

If she's going to complain about it afterwards? Yes.

I don't care why she shows her tits. But she shows them. It's her advantage as an on-screen female reporter in a heterosexual male dominated sport. If she wants her work in MMA to be taken objectively, she shouldn't insert her beautiful subjective tits. That's all I'm saying.

This is a perfect summation of your point, and exactly what I have a problem with.
Why though? I don't pay any mind to Karen Bryant. I'm not a fan of hers. So when she steps up and cries that it's a problem that she's not taken seriously, it places the blame on me and others that don't care for her line of work.

I just feel like she has the right to blame you as soon as you discredit her due to cleavage.

Furthermore, if you hadn't said any of these things, I'd agree that she has no right to blame you individually. As soon as you say she can't be taken objectively because of her cleavage, you fall into exactly what she is referencing.

The cleavage was only pointed out as a double standard. I'm arguing principles here man. Again, I don't give a shit about Karen Bryant. Not a fan. It's up to her to convince me to watch. And for her to complain about her target demographic isn't' going to help.

I take no blame for her self-perpetuated issues.

I don't agree. Part of being female is having tittays (not udders, if you're blessed). What you're suggesting, in a pussified way, is that if you enjoy looking fem then you can't complain if ppl marginalize or condescend to you because of it. She's not rubbing her nipples and licking her lips while asking a fighter a dumb ass question about training.

She's a physically attractive woman, who wears makeup, gets her hair done, and likes wearing high heeled shoes because that's what makes her feel good and self confident. I'm not begrudging Cruz his hair gel, Rashad his tight suit pants, nor any male in a tight t-shirt.

A valid critique is that she oft times courts the sexism with her Rampage hump bullshit, not that she has titts that are viewable. Sitting in press row with my bosom encashed in a tank top with a dress shirt over it did not stop any of the fat, bearded, clammy, pasty face men from giving me the "who is she fucking?" eye. It truly doesn't matter unless you are a manly looking lesbian. That's cool with the obese masses. Toodles.

Look at the female "reporters" on ESPN. It's just a reality if you're a woman that's going to be on sports TV. I say embrace it and be the best at it.

Let's not get personal. We've already been down that road.

You're way over-exaggerating my point. Karen doesn't seem to portray a very strong interest in the sport. Tie that in with the obvious flaunting of the fake boobs and flirty attitude and you can see why I have a hard time empathizing with her complaints.

A valid critique is that she oft times courts the sexism with her Rampage hump bullshit, not that she has titts that are viewable.
Her most popular interview and third most watched video overall is the motorboat video. There are so, so many MMA reporters out there. Blaming some kind of phantom misogyny is a cop out, especially when she uses her physical assets as an advantage over the rest of the field. It's hypocritical.
