Former Bellator lightweight champion Will Brooks will make his UFC debut on short-notice, as he fights TUF 9 winner Ross Pearson on July 8th at the TUF 23 Finale.

It's happening on short-notice, but we will be seeing former Bellator lightweight champion Will Brooks in the UFC. "Ill" Will has officially signed with the promotion and will make his debut on July 8th against Ross Pearson at The Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale in Las Vegas, Nevada. MMAjunkie first broke the story on Wednesday afternoon. Brooks is replacing James Krause, who withdrew from the event for undisclosed reasons. The night's main card will air live on FS1.

Good signing. I give Pearson a punchers chance, but Will is the more well rounded of the two. Whatever happens he's a nice addition to a stacked division.

Few fights ago I thought Pearson was done, looked better in the last one for sure.

Tough intro fight for Brooks, love it though. Ideal way to make stamp on the division with a win, great leveller for the UFC to use against Bellator if he loses.

For the fans, win win.

Pearson is a gamer for sure. Should give us a good gauge of where exactly Brooks is in the ufc lw division.

Ross is a tough task for anyone. Definitely has a punchers chance. I feel brooks is much more well rounded.

Brooks should embrace the grind in this fight.
