If you could fight any fighter of any era, who would it be and why?

Were there any fighters that you tried to mimic growing up?

Are you a fan of MMA?

of course!
Mayweather vs Paq?

If you can only pick one of your fights to show a new fan that just started following you, which fight and why?

If you could change one thing about boxing today, what would it be?

When were you first exposed to boxing? What age did you start training and what drove you to succeed?

What was his mindset when he debuted on a card that had PBF vs Hatton? After his fight how did he watch that fight go down and who was he rooting for? Sorry I don't follow too much boxing so that's the best I got :(

On behalf of @D241 can you why boxers don't utilize the superman punch?

I might not be able to get all the q's in because the folks at PBC are super strict with the time. I get 20 minutes AND the PBC guys conference me in so they can monitor the interview. They absolutely don't allow any MMA questions (learned that when I interviewed Broner).

That's odd that they'd make a point about MMA questions.

I thought so too, but when I tried to ask Broner if he followed MMA and if he would ever be interested in competing, they shut that line of questioning right down. Interrupted before he could speak and told me to keep it to boxing.

Here's my question list. Hope you guys are cool with it:

Daniel Jacobs

I know a lot of combat sports athletes time their training so they “peak” at a certain point. With the date change for your fight, did that affect you any, or is it pretty much business as usual?

Truax will have more of the “home ring advantage” with the venue being in Chicago. Is that a factor that you’ve ever given any creedence to, or is it just business as usual for you?

All athletes experience pressure in varying degrees before competition. How do you “de-pressurize” before a big bout?

Truax has said that your speed and KO power is a huge factor, and he will try to counteract that by taking you into the later rounds. What are your thoughts on that strategy?

If you can only pick one of your fights to show a new fan that just started following you, which fight and why?

Were there any fighters that you tried to mimic growing up?

You’ve experienced great success with your “Get In the Ring” program. Are you interested in expanding your philanthropic efforts by incorporating more branches to your charity program (helping homeless, setting up scholarship programs, community free clinics, soup kitchens, etc)?

As a cancer survivor and nurse by trade, I know the long term effects of surgery, chemo, and radiation can last a lifetime. Do you have any lingering effects that you deal with, or has it been a fairly smooth recovery for you?

If you could fight any fighter of any era, who would it be and why?

If you could change one thing about boxing today, what would it be?

Which of your fellow middleweights would he like to fight most?

Aside from yourself, who do you think presents the biggest threat in your division, Golovkin or Cotto?

Mayweather vs Paq?

Looks great Steph, I like these best.

Awesome! You rule Crooklyn. Literally every time I see a new article posted by you, I read it. Thanks a TON for taking to the fans for questions. Really makes us feel involved and stuff lol. Much appreciated.

Your Rogan piece is one of the best pieces in MMA journalism EVA. Just wanted to let you know. I was really glad you asked Joe about kickboxing and such. Lots of people never believed me when I told they he fought in kickboxing for real (not TKD) but I could never find a source to point to. I know because we live in the same area (well when he was younger.. Mass)/same martial arts scene. And when I finally read your interview that confirmed it, it was like I struck gold haha. I could shut all the trolls up with a CITATION now :)

Seriously though. Always enjoy reading! thanks again and please feel free to stop by any time, especially with questions for fighters! Love it.

Thanks so much everyone. I did the interview, it went flawlessly and Daniel Jacobs is a fackin' great interview. Very articulate and intelligent answers. I'll be writing it up for a post next week since he fights next weekend, but as a little bonus, I'm gonna give you guys the audio (I never put out the audio anymore, but this time, I made sure to streamline it more like an interview and less like a conversation with off-record stuff). Cheers and thanks again!

Good job Crooklyn. Just took the time to read about him and look up the highlights of his fight with Luteran (the fight he would show a new fan) :)

Nice article Crooklyn @Crooklyn. I'll be checking him out tomorrow on SpikeTV for sure. See, your article just got Daniel at least one more fan, right here.
