Gall: People treat Punk as if he's a 'joke'

Gall is treating Punk like he's welterweight champion Robbie Lawler and not a WWE performer who is coming to the UFC to check off an item from his bucket list.

"I'm going to prepare as if they say he's the best in the world. I'm going to prepare like he's the baddest dude around," Gall said. "I don't really think I need to see tape. I'm going to force my game. I'm taking him very seriously.

"A lot of people are treating him like a joke but I'm going to look like a real (expletive) if I go out there thinking he's a joke and get myself beat. I won't let that happen."

Of course people treat him like a joke because it is kind of a joke. As it would be if I would play in the NBA without ever having played competitively beforehand. It's only natural to see it as a joke, if one is to take the sport seriously.

....... Well he's a 37 year old fake wrestler with a 0-0 record and next to no martial arts experience who's somehow able to fight in the UFC on a whim. Oh and it's been like a year since he signed with the UFC and he still hasn't fought. Oh and he postponed the fight like twice for injuries. Oh and he has allegedly lost all of his simulated fights/sparring matches in the gym. Btw did I mention he's a WWE guy?

That may be the worst thing Gall can do. It doesn't matter who you;re opponent is, you should always be respectful and take them seriously. I don't care who really wins TBH but I wouldn't be surprised either way really. I'm just excited to finally see what Brooks can do in the cage. Maybe he'll surprise everyone.
