26 Democrats Who Participated in Gun Control Sit-In Are Gun Owners

After congressional Democrats ended their day-long sit-in on the House floor in a push for a vote on two pieces of gun control legislation, it has emerged that 26 of those Democratic lawmakers are gun owners themselves.

Heat Street examined 2013 USA Today data on congressional firearm ownership, finding that in addition to the 26 gun owners, there were 12 more congressional Democrats who did not answer if they owned a firearm or not.

The sit-in centered on two pieces of proposed gun legislation, one for expanded background checks and one for restricting gun sales to terror suspects.

Them being gun owners in looking at increased gun restrictions doesn't really bug me. I don't see the two camps is mutually exclusive.

But they are bunch of children pandering for politics.

The same group was against The Cornyn bill that would have given a legal constitutional process to prevent gun purchases when under investigation:

Cornyn Introduces Legislation to Stop Terrorists from Buying Guns, Protect Second Amendment | United States Senator John Cornyn, Texas

  • Under the SHIELD Act, if an individual who (1) is a known or suspected terrorist, or (2) has been the appropriate subject of a terrorism investigation within the last five years, attempts to purchase a weapon:
  • The Attorney General or designee has the authority to delay the transfer of a weapon for up to three (3) business days while relevant law enforcement agencies conduct an investigation.
  • Federal, state, and local law enforcement officials are notified immediately so they can monitor the situation.
  • A U.S. Attorney could permanently block the transfer upon a showing of probable cause before a judge that the individual is involved in terrorism.
  • Further, the Attorney General or designee then has the authority to immediately take the prospective purchaser into custody if a judge determines there is probable cause that the individual is involved.
Contact Senator Cornyn

That bill would have required probable cause before you can stop a gun purchase. Before that it would enact an automatic three- day waiting period so that law enforcement would be notified and could choose to in the act any investigation a warrant etc. It is the same standard required for police to do anything else that might normally be protected under your rights. Automatic waitlist are already proven Constitutional.

The same group protesting childishly voted against this and then turned around and said that they want the same thing but without any sort of standard. Simply if you are added to a list you can't purchase a gun. Totally unconstitutional and would never stand up in a court of law.

Even more ridiculous is that one of the people supporting this sit in was wrongfully placed on the no-fly list in the past. He is a personal highlight of exactly why this is a bad Bill without some sort of standard. You can't make this shit up.

Old CNN Reporting Reveals John Lewis Himself Was Once Added to Terror Watch List

So screw these guys. They do not actually care about anything winning the politics of the moment. They do not care if they pass a gun bill or not.

Question; do you ever sleep and if so how long for?
5 hours a night. 7 if its been a physically taxing day - jiu jitsu, heavy gym,etc..
I try to nap strategically if I'm anticipating a big sleep deficit coming.

I'll sleep when I'm dead.

According to my spreadsheet youre spread pretty thin, please confirm if my data is correct;

Youre a doctor in a large hospital who delivers babies

You also work at the local army base as a med

You develop this place and mod it

You jits 2 nights a week

You lift 3 nights a week.

This is pretty close to being accurate.
Army is part time.
I have a lot of mods that help here. And you guys aren't total jerks so it kind of mods itself.
jits is 4-5 times a week every other week.
I have moved to lifting 4-5 times a week those other weeks.

I am self-employed and only doing contract work these days. I go on for extended stretches (7-10 days) and have off for extended stretches (5-7 days) :)
I lift after work.
I do jits when I'm on my off time.

No need to answer this one as its a little personal.

Thats a bit of a strawman argument, im not going to get into whether you should be allowed to carry because its none of my business and its definitely in your constitution but the point of limiting gun ownership is so they dont get into the hands of the people in the left of the pic yeah?

That said, if I ever move to the US ill be armed to the teeth for sure.

Ah cool Med Mal for obbies here is nearly impossible to get, in the city of Adelaide there were only 2 obbies at one stage because of this. You guess the baby's gender wrong and you get sued here for shock and mental anguish (people will sue because of the gender of their own fucking kid here) and if you dont spot a defect in the first tri youre fucked big time.

Med Mal knowledge comes in handy I fell 4m onto my face while drunk and woke up in a neck brace and tubes coming out of my arm. I wanted to discharge myself and they said no so I explained that im an ex Med-Mal underwriter and wanted to know under which legislation they could hold me against my will? IE mental health act, they said to take off my own neck brace and leave, they fucking shit bricks, lucky it was an intern and not an old war nurse though. I once got dragged out of a police car by an old war nurse when the cops themselves couldnt get me out to get me treatment lol

Texas has tort reform so it s a good place to do medicine if you exist in a high risk sphere like OB

It's not an argument for gun control. It's just a comic illustrating how politicians love to shift blame.
