Interesting.
Annoyed he didn't get the Brock fight or looking at Fedor or Bellator?

Thoughts?

After the fight, USADA officials revealed Mir had tested positive for a banned substance. Mir maintained his innocence, but today told MMAjunkie Radio he also wasn’t going to put himself in a position to have a “B” sample tested – because it would mean thousands of dollars out of his own pocket.

“So I basically chose to not go ahead and invest in it, just because as of right now, with a two-year suspension, I don’t know when I’m fighting again. And that’s probably why I’ve survived so long in Vegas – I don’t gamble. The idea of throwing money out there to find out and possibly reduce the sentence, not knowing exactly what’s going on and how the process works, I opted to not try to do that.”

Mir said he often has put his hat in the ring to do analyst work for FOX Sports broadcasts ahead and following UFC events – but hasn’t been put in the mix, and doesn’t think he would be if he remains suspended after the USADA test result.

“I really see the only result is to be released by the UFC,” Mir said. “I don’t see any other way about it. If they release me, then I can go back into fighting. I can go into broadcasting, start working in those realms – commentate for the different shows that are out there, which is something I greatly want to do and I’ve been begging to do it for years with the UFC, and for some reason I’ve kind of hit a ceiling, I guess.

“Other fighters – good fighters, good commentators – (who are broadcasting), I feel like I can hang out there or even be better than. But I never get in the rotation. So maybe leaving (the UFC) is not the worst idea as far as opportunities go.”

Ex-champ Frank Mir says his best case while under suspension is be released by UFC

Maybe they will give him a release if he signs some type of non compete clause that gives him opportunities to broadcast as long as he don't out the gloves on.

Yes, I see now.........you can't have anything to do with the UFC or fox commentating, nor fight while suspended.....Don't like that he wouldn't pay for the b test as I thought he said he was going to do that when I listened to Chael interview with him?

Fedor Vs. Arlovski Affliction - I still remember seeing Mir sitting next to lil shit Joey Silva watching Fedor blast Arlovski into that other Mandela Effect Dimension.

After that fight Mir went on to say he wanted that fight with Fedor.

TBH it would be a very interesting match up that Frank could very well win.

Mir's always been near the top -- sure I think he took peds, but as we have seen over and over again ....who hasn't?

Wouldn't mind seeing Mir go somewhere else and possibly fight Fedor...would be a fun fight.

I think a B sample testing out a different result is an incredibly unlikely always - same cup of piss out of the same body tested for the same things and thresholds just at a different lab - the only way B result is different than A is if the A sample facility/equipment was tainted, very very rarely happens.

It's especially not worth it when he KNOWS it's going to come back positive.

He wouldnt be able to fight for the UFC ever again if he did.

That's true, he'd be blackballed and all hope of entering the UFC Hall of Fame would be tossed away including announcing gigs or commentating on FOX ..yada ..yada ...yada......

It's a personal decision for Mir, in his heart he still wants to fight ....does he follow his heart and dreams? Or does he play it safe for the job security and guaranteed accolades the UFC will place upon him in retirement?

Does he Live a life he wants? Or does he remain a slave to the system for the glitz and glamour?

I think on some level we all face such decisions ....will be interesting which one Frank the Tank decides to go .......

I believe "Robert Frost" said it best back in the 20's with his touching poem "The Road Not Taken"

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

I'm not a gambling man either, but I'd be willing to bet that people who are hard on mir for the juice, those same guys' favorite fighters have a needle plunged in their ass as we speak. Some are better at playing the game is all. The sport is dirty as fuck. As it should be. It's cage fighting for money with limited rules. This isn't synchronized swimming.

It's damn shame, probably did it to himself, but as alot of you know i don't really care about PED's
Would be nice if he got his walking papers, and could go earn a living in commentating, we will see

Very interesting. My take is that he is being a realist. He knows where he falls in the rankings in today's mma. He wants to try a place that'll at least let him get some sponsors. Get that money going. That's my best bet

I may misremember here but I think Frank might be the first guy Dana signed himself, he knew Frank as a local H.S wrestler / son of local Karate guy
