Now that he is healthy, Cain Velasquez is looking to get back his UFC heavyweight title.
The American Kickboxing Academy fighter returned to the win column this Saturday at UFC 200 by stopping Travis Browne in the first round. Following his victory, Velasquez expressed his desire to once again become the UFC heavyweight champion.
"For me, I just always want to fight the best guys," Velasquez said at the post-fight press conference. "I want the winner of Stipe and Overeem. That's what I want, you know. I feel like the stuff that I've done for this training camp, as far as keeping my body healthy, I feel like it's worked for me. And going through a whole training camp without any little tweaks or, you know, nothing really bother me, has been awesome.
"That has been because of the stuff that I've done to keep my body healthy. So, I want the best guys out there. Those two guys are fighting for the belt. I want to fight the winner."
Velasquez, who is currently ranked number two in the UFC heavyweight division, lost his heavyweight belt to Fabricio Werdum back in June 2015 at UFC 188. He was scheduled to fight in an immediate rematch against Werdum in February, but Velasquez was forced to pull out of the fight due to a back injury. As a consequence...
