I think catering to narcissistic 1st worlders while people are starving is a case of being ignorant or having fucked up priorities.
Wait... I'm not sure what you mean, how am I catering and who am I catering too?

I can't blame Cormier for that at all.

Some guys go out there and fight the exact same game plan every fight. Obviously Cormier is not one of those guys. He probably watches a ton of tape and it's customizing which combinations and takedowns he's planning.

He walked out there and with no effort beat a short-notice replacement. He did it with zero injury and is ready to fight again right away.

At the time of the Jon Jones fight removal only the Jon Jones a sample was back. Is possible that the B sample could have come back negative allowing Jones to fight again soon.

Beyond just needing to be ready for Jon Jones as soon as possible, Cormier is not getting younger. He is near the end of his career if you listen to his words and look at the age of most Fighters at that weight class. Going out there and risking injury to the short notice replacement that is getting paid more than you are to be there is silly.

But beyond all that obvious risk and benefit analysis, I hardly see how the fight sucked because of Cormier. Cormier didn't put himself in any risk standing up. But Anderson Silva holding a deep half guard hoping for the stand up wasn't exactly threatening any submissions either. And with 10 years of watching Anderson Silva have questionable takedown defense in wrestling, I can't help but put an equal amount of focus on Anderson's performance despite the short notice.
Agree that Silva didn't do much but taking a fight on 2 days notice against the champ a weight class up is somewhat justification.

DC should have done more on the ground. Tried harder to improve his position, get a sub and land some shots. He just laid on Silva, giving him love taps.

Isn't Cormier a brown belt?

Cerrone just likes to be the center of attention and tries way too hard to be manly as fuck. Just look at what he does. Wakeboarding the week of the fight. Skydiving the day of weigh ins. Drinking 10 beers a day. Smacking random girls' asses. Banging your mom. Of course he's gonna say shit like this without thinking.

Well Donald is usually pretty cool !But that's why fighters watch tape w/their team and the whole purpose to come up w/ a game plan, strategy, don't let that guy do what their best at or you could get ur Ass kicked. Maybe he's just trying to relate to most people, but he could of just told him to his face

As a paying fan, considering what we could've had and what we got, I was severely disappointed.
So the fact you paid money means that he should know what you want to see and then go do his best impression of Werdum when he fought Stipe?
In a way it was something like the old NHB days when guys didn't really know who their opponent would be and just had to fight to their strengths, if there had been no rounds then that's exactly what it would have been like. He did the best he could and Anderson is still one of the best fighters in the world, it would have been stupid not to respect that.

i think dc could have easily finished that fight. that said who cares if he took it easy against anderson who prolly had a day or two just to make weight and clear the medicals.... after 170 nate destroys lil conor.. time for a 170 nate vs a 170 cowboy..

Did you see the Jones vs OSP fight? Jon eeked out a W with a short notice opponent to minimize risk and damage so he could get back in there asap. Only difference was it was over 5 rounds.
Oh man I forgot about that he looked like Shit & it's sucked! Ur right man
