The official Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) rankings have been updated following the UFC on FOX 15 event, which went down this past weekend (Sat., April 18, 2015) from inside the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

For complete "Machida vs. Rockhold" results and play-by-play click here.

As expected, Luke Rockhold shot up the 185-pound charts -- passing right by the tumbling Lyoto Machida -- thanks to his submission win over "The Dragon" last weekend in "Dirty Jersey" (replay). Likewise for Paige VanZant, who beat the brakes off longtime veteran Felice Herrig (watch it).

Unfortunately, the same can't be said in the featherweight division, as Max Holloway is still ranked behind Cub Swanson. Yes, the same Cub Swanson "Blessed" choked out in the third round to win his sixth straight (video highlights here).

Don't be surprised to see a similar outcome at bantamweight.

Here's what the entire ranking field looks like courtesy of UFC.com. Note: (+/- = movement in rankings, *NR = Not previously ranked).

What's crazier than Cub being ranked higher than Max still, is Cub's ranking literally didn't drop at all. He was #5, and he's still #5. THAT, is crazy.

I know this b/c on my thread about hypothetical match ups, IWEI was the only one to pick Oliveira over Max and when he did I looked at the rankings(before the weekends fights) and the rankings were Cub 5, Lentz 7, Oliveira 8, and Max 9.

That's ridiculous. In no world should Cub be ranked over Max. How the fuck does that make any sense at all? Don't tell me about quality of wins etc. He beat the shit out of the guy. He should not be lower ranked. This ranking system has driven me nuts since they debuted it lol

How is Cub still ranked ahead of Max?

And how did PVZ jump 5 spots?

Thank God the UFC is going away from this abortion of a ranking system, to determine sponsorship money.

LOL @ these rankings period. They almost never make sense.

On another note, i think this is indicative that rockhold gets the next shot as he's #1 now. Then again, the UFC does as it pleases.

OSP should have got some movement for that win over Cummins too.

rankings used to only be discussed in mma message board forums with no real impact on the sport other than the super fights talked about most.

True story.

The best was when Siver miraculously jumped into the top 10 right before the McGregor fight was announced.

belfort's fought only henderson since their fight, and rockhold has four wins since then (wrecking ex #2 machida this past weekend). this is why he's ahead of belfort now.

Of course. You know Zuffa sent out a blast email "encouraging" media members to vote him up to #1

Well, at least they realized tying the rankings to Reebok $ was a terrible idea.
Holloway would have got screwed royally with the No. 6 ranking for his next fight
if it would have held up.

By the way, whose terrible, poorly thought out idea was that in the first place? Certainly Dana, the fight genius who single handedly forged the UFCs popularity with his greatness as a promoter, never signed off on that!

I didn't want to look as soon as I seen Ronda is still on the men's pound for pound list. That's the craziest thing on all them lists.

These fucking lists are no better than they were years ago, and now sponsorship money is on the line. Unfucking real.
