"Who knows? (McGregor) could get hurt in this fight against Diaz," Cruz said. "They'd need someone to fight for the interim title. I'm willing to fight for the interim (featherweight) title and bring two belts together. Why not? I would do that in a heartbeat. That's a much more fun, much bigger fight than anything near TJ Dillashaw. Nobody cares about that guy."

"Or maybe Aldo gets hurt and I'll fight Conor. Let's go, you know what I mean? I can move up to 145 and be very competitive. I'm extremely hard to hit, I'm quick and I've fought at 45 before. I'm down for it because bringing two belts together to consolidate into one, not only has it not been done, it's tough. It's a challenge. It's a fun, interesting matchup. That's what people want to see right now."

I think Conor would need to touch him one time to end it. 25 minutes is more than enough time.

Aldo would use kicks and take Cruz's movement away.

I like Cruz at 145 but he wouldn't dominate like he does at 135 imo.

I agree those are both nightmare match ups for him but I sure as shit would watch both. Think this is a ruse into trying to get mighty mouse into jumping up for a big pay day.

Nice, I'd be interested in either fight ....Aldo no doubt would target those legs ....would be interesting to see how McGregor would take on the herky-jerky in and out style of Cruz.

Cruz has faced plenty of people who know how to kick and has also gotten touched less than any other fighter. He beats McG or Aldo imo, but Aldo would be a more interesting fight.

I would definitely love seeing this. Most stylistically interesting fight for Cruz. Cruz walks around at 160-165 lbs. Just around Aldo's natural weight too. This is a match up I'd love to write about if this fight ever materializes. That aside, there are a lot of interesting fights at featherweight for him if he did ever want to compete at featherweight.

Pettis (when he moves down), Holloway, McGregor, Aldo, Edgar, Mendes. All fights I'd love seeing. Holloway and Conor in particular make for an interesting style match up because of their offensive styles and Cruz's defensive style.

The first Cruz/Dillashaw fight was a good fight and could have gone either way. I think Cruz knows that if he does loss to Aldo or McGregor, he would still have the Dillashaw fight waiting.

Prefer these match ups at 145 to be honest. Do wanna see the TJ, Cruz dance one more time though. Especially now TJ is essentially copying Cruz.

He should fight Dillashaw next, then to help a brotha out, Mighty mouse, after that whoever holds that belt in the 145 division.

He's been away from the division for three years and Bantamweight is just starting to heat up again. Many think he lost to TJ, there is unfinished business there, I'd rather see the rematch. I don't blame him for trying to insert himself into a moneyweight fight, though.

lol Cruz is mean.

I love him, but he's cruel as a mofo.
His shit talking is so effective because it's sophisticated. But it does seem to come from a place of malice often. He really doesn't like some of these people.

No way they let him hold the 145 belt without vacating 135. He doesn't fight often enough to defend both.

I can't see how anyone could think TJ best Cruz. That fight was a masterpiece.

I thought MM was the one asking for the fight and Cruz turned it down saying he already beat that guy.

Mm was saying he'd only do it for 2 million. Which is an almost impossible sell considering he's had a ton of time and still can't prove to be a draw.

Basically, cruz will jump around the octagon like a mouse trying to avoid a boa trapped in a tank.

Prediction - either a draw or a riot at the event which results in a no contest due to abandonment.....

Cruz - McGregor would be an interesting fight but I think the pre-fight verbal between the two could be in the running for the greatest ever. I think Cruz' combination of intelligence and truly unbreakable confidence would have McGregor thinking about everything he said. Just my opinion, Cruz would move into his head and hold a month long house warming party.
