We are not at a point where any publicity is good publicity anymore. Everybody knows who is running for president. Of course the attention spiked during and after the convention. It would have even if she didn't use stolen material.

A large contingent of the republican party has been criticizing Michelle Obama as unworthy of the title of first lady for almost 8 years now. There is no way that Trump thought making his immigrant wife look stupid on stage during the republican national convention was a good idea. The man is a brilliant strategist and campaigner, but it's absolutely insane to me that anyone would think that he intentionally made his wife look foolish in front of millions of people. This was an opportunity for her to come out and speak and prove to the constituency that she isn't just a bimbo foreign model gold digger like many believe her to be. It was a huge opportunity.
I personally think she was sabotaged by a speech writer, but I would believe almost anything outside of Trump doing this on purpose. The guy deserves a lot of credit, but this one is an example of people just wanting to back their guy.

I never said that I agreed that she is a bimbo foreign gold digger. I am commenting on public perception. I also never said that people perceive her as that based solely on the speech. They believe those things because she is a younger foreign model who married the unattractive billionaire.
The people who are attacking her online are not the people that I am speaking of. I'm referring to the swing voters, who are absolutely going to make or break Trump in this election. Those aren't the people bashing her online, because the people who are bashing her online are mostly angry Democrats.
Our conversation was regarding whether or not Trump did this on purpose, which he clearly didn't. I'm not sure how the number of lifted words is relevant. I guess you're trying to say that it's not a big deal or indicative of how Trump would be as the president, but neither of those were points that I was making. I think you may be a bit confused as to who is projecting here.

Interesting, my perspective on this - I think the country is going to be blindsided by the turnout of closet/secret Trump voters that swing this election...
Essentially pidgeon holes into being single issue voters, suspending the hordes of Muslim immigrants from coming into our country until we can sort/figure out how to vet them is some base shit that a whole bunch of not 'racist' not 'Islamaphobic' people will vote for, but will not say a peep about online

My opinion on swing voters being important is not based on the internet, but the current political climate. It is a bit harder to factor in the closeted supporters when the political climate is taken into context. Everything has been heading in a more blue direction for a while now.
I don't want to get into the issues that you listed, because I didn't intend for this to be a "who would be the better president" discussion. I think they're both deplorable and disgusting. I was just speaking on whether or not Trump staged his wife's speech debacle.
