Buckle the fuck up nerds, the DC Animated Universe is getting back on track (with one movie, anyway).
The best part of their latest garbage installment Justice League vs Teen Titans movie is that we got a sneak peek of the animated Killing Joke.

Bruce Timm is involved and Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill are back to voice the characters like only they can!

It looks like it's following the story to the tee, but I think the movie will have trouble getting the tone down pat.

Just announced this movie will be rated R.

"From the start of production, we encouraged producer Bruce Timm and our team at Warner Bros. Animation to remain faithful to the original story — regardless of the eventual MPAA rating," Warners exec Sam Register said in a statement. "The Killing Joke is revered by the fans, particularly for its blunt, often-shockingadult themes and situations. We felt it was our responsibility to present our core audience — the comics-loving community — with an animatedfilm that authentically represented the tale they know all too well."

These guys get it and that's why Mask of the Phantasm was the best Batman movie on the big screen.

Loved it!
It's one of my favourite depictions of Batman.
I actually plan to start a batman tattoo sleeve soon all with art from that series.
I've admittedly been out of the loop, but I look back on that series from my youth very fondly. Mrs Beard actually bought me the whole series on DVD for my birthday back when we were dating.

This upcoming movie feel a lot like that series did, and I dig that. I realize that series was marketed to kid's, but it was one of the grittier mass media incarnations of Batman aside from Christian Bale's. I'm really looking forward to this movie.

You should try some of the other dc animated movies. Theres quite a few but Doom and Crisis on Two Earths were some of my favourites and they had the same feel as the old animated series.

Just watched.

I thought it was a great adaptation of the graphic novel however because the story is so short they added an additional half and hour at the start that came off feeling like filler more than part of the story.
I won't go into too much detail to avoid spoilers since it hadn't been released outside of the Comic Con panel and select theatres.

The first half an hour is a Batgirl story, which I think they added to give more weight to what happens in the actual Killing Joke story. I didn't care for it but I can understand what they were trying to do.

Bottom line I would recommend it but get passed the first part before passing judgement on it. You could easily skip the first 28 minutes and not really miss much.

Finally got around to watching it. I thought it was OK.. I could have done without the Batgirl story line but nonetheless it was a good flick. I love Mark Hamills voice as the joker it just sounds amazing. Overall I rate it a 7/10 :D

That movie didn't do Batgirl any favours.
