GSP: I’d beat Diaz ‘way worse’ in rematch

Georges St-Pierre vs. Nick Diaz 2 is probably one of the biggest fights the UFC can book right now.

Diaz often gets asked about St-Pierre in interviews and recently said he believed he was drugged before that UFC 158 fight in Montreal, GSP's hometown. St-Pierre, meanwhile,told Bloody Elbow this week in an interview that he would not mind fighting Diaz again — and feels like he would dominate him the second time around.

"I beat him last time easily, but I was not happy — it's one of these fights that I'm not happy with," St-Pierre said. "Because I didn't feel like I gave enough, for different reasons. It left me angry that fight, when I look back at it — maybe I won, but for some reason it left me angry and I feel like I could have done so much better."

GSP, 34, was asked if Diaz will be the first fight in his comeback. St-Pierre has not fought since November 2013, a win over Johny Hendricks.

"I don't care if it's the first, or second, or third," GSP said. "If they want me to fight Nick Diaz it would be my pleasure. I don't mind, I am not afraid of Nick Diaz, I beat him last time, and I'll beat even worse, I'll beat him way worse next time that I'll fight him."

Nick has nothing for GSP unless Georges has a total brain fart and decides to trade with Diaz, but he's way too smart for that. His strength has always been his ability to implement a game plan, and Nick's weakness is his wrestling. If I'm GSP I come back for this fight and maybe an Anderson super-fight, take my 2 huge paydays and bounce.

I feel like GSP could have made 10x as much money as he did fighting if he actually fought to finish.. The dude used to be a killer and exciting to watch until he became a safe fighter and started to only jab and wrestle. And guess what, people still tuned in because it was a GSP fight. I think if he stayed exciting and was able to win still, he woulda made way more $$$ and wouldn't even be talking about a come back at this point

He said a while ago that his contract was invalid because it predated the Reebok deal and they were still trying to negotiate a new contract.

I didn't hear that they signed a new contract yet but he will have to before he fights again if he hasn't already. It's not as easy as just fighting right now. Negotiations are in the works.

I think that's why Dana always says Georges doesn't want to fight. Dulling the calls for GSP to return hurts his negotiating leverage and he is likely pissed that Georges wants to be paid enough to draw him from retirement.

i hope gsp comes back with some fire and finishes fights like when he was young. 5 round decision gsp is boring as hell and good enough to 5 round decision anyone in the division. gsp should be calling out anderson for his comeback fight. in their primes i was confident andy would win but at this stage of the game gsp has got to be the favorite

Muthafuck!! Okay, go ahead and make it happen. These guys are two of my favorite fighters and they couldn't possibly be more different in every aspect of fighting and life, and I was so excited for the first one which I attended live.........yet I left the bell Center very drunk and disappointed. However, the long layoffs for both of these guys has left me longing to see them both perform again, so I'll have zero problem getting up for this rematch if it's made. Hell, I might even jerkoff if they announce it!
