Bubba Jenkins has publicly expressed his displeasure with being on the prelims in his next fight.

The rising featherweight told Ariel Helwani on Monday's episode of The MMA Hour that Bellator initially told him the contender bout against Georgi Karakhanyan would be on the main card of Bellator 160 on Aug. 26 in Anaheim. Plans changed, though, and Jenkins vs. Karakhanyan will be the featured prelim fight on spike.com.

"It was pretty disappointing to hear that it's on the prelims," Jenkins said. "I obviously have friends back home, tons of people who want to throw Bubba J fight parties, so to not have that opportunity kind of was like, ‘Aw man.' I'm excited either way. The results will be the same. The fight is going to go the way I planned it."

Bubba Jenkins ‘disappointed’ next fight is on Bellator prelims, but using it to his advantage

I have to say, I've seen him fight (rarely ever get to see bellator fights and don't typically watch after I know the result) and this guy deserves to be main or co-main IMO.......particularly in bellator.....

Give MMA Roasted a listen when he is on. The guy is a really cool guy. Very likeable, talks about the sport in a really good way and his wrestling knowledge is second to none. Very realistic about his career and wanting to build up, I like his approach.

His nickname change recently though... ughhhhh not a fan.

Bellator really need work on their fucking promotion game when it comes to bubba, he could easily be a "star" for them.

Big fight for Bubba J. We will get to see how much he has progressed in MMA since his only loss was to Georgi.

Glad to see this. Idk what the fuck bellator is thinking throwing higher profile fights on the prelims. Maybe they are trying to justify airing prelims on tv? Still. Present day, Very few watch prelims
