I know this may have been shared in another thread but fuck that. What were the injuries he referenced in the post fight interview.

He didn't look sharp until about later into the second round and i figured he would come out hot this time considering the rough first round of the first fight.

he said he hurt his ribs in sparring and done something to his fucking knee.
I dont think he was specific about the fucking injury to his knee though.

I saw him limping around in one of Nick's snapchats a couple of months back after some bike ride or off road triathlon, but you can't tell how bad an injury is from a ten second video. If you really are injured to the point that you can't train properly, then why fight? Especially in Nate's case because that rematch wasn't going anywhere. If you're an up and coming fighter who's finally getting his or her big break, then I could see it, but Diaz vs McGregor II was going to happen regardless of whether it had to be rescheduled, again.

You guys dont seem to understand just how much pressure Zuffa/the office put on the guys who are injured and headlining a show.. They put so much pressure on the guys that they feel they have to fight regardless of injuries coming in. Only one that has stood up to them and their marketing pressure is Jones(the one time I've applauded him).

The Diaz's never pull out of fights unless they're kicked off a card. Injured or not, they show up for the payday at the very least. I don't think pressure from the UFC brass has ever swayed them which explains their tumultuous relationship until very recently.

That too. I focused on what I know about how the UFC brass and how they pressure fighters. It was experienced first hand twice when heath got injured prior to the Obrien fight and again when he was supposed to fight cain.

Jones wasn't injured when he was pressured to fight, it was his opponent. I don't know where you're coming with this when evidence show that all fighters pull out of injuries regardless of pressure from the UFC. Just to name some off of my head in the recent years, Aldo, RDA, Cain, Khavib, Ferguson, Jones, Cormier, Overeem, Weidman, and many more...) This is just another reason to appreciate the fighters like the Diaz bros. unless they were kicked off the card, they show up no matter what.

There have been fighters who have pulled from fights, yes.. but they still were given the talk, "we've spent this much on you for marketing this fight," the only one to truly tell them to fuck themselves on the matter was jones with 151. You mention he wasn't injured, but no shit.. he still said he wasn't going to fight and they killed the card while trying to make him look like the bad guy for it(he wasn't in this situation IMO). They do put pressure on the fighters to fight injured.. and yes the diaz bros only dont show up to fight when they are kicked off cards by the idiots in the office.

Nate always has a knee injury, because he never knows and has never learned how to check leg kicks.

Not arguing that they weren't really bad about doing this in the past but for some reason it seems as long they've lightened up a bit with it in the last year or two. Dana will be Dana and talk out of both sides of his mouth about how they don't pressure the fighters to fight injured and then turn around a mock a fighter's injury. But I wonder if they've relaxed the pressuring a bit because they're doing better financially during the Ronda/Conor Era and unless something that has been promoted like crazy is in jeopardy they just don't care as much. They know that they can find a decent replacement, or even better in the case of Nate/Conor, or shuffle the fights around a bit and still put out a product that people will tune in for. They couldn't do that when every card was suffering from major injury issues and the roster wasn't as deep as it is now.

In this case I feel like it was a matter of Nate being convinced that he could beat Conor no matter what and that he wasn't about to miss a MASSIVE payday or even risk someone jumping in and ruining things for him the way that he did to RDA.

Exactly...you're a dollar sign to zuffa not a human...they don't do good with ppl standing up to them...as soon as that Reebok backlash happened they dipped with a quickness...
