Well if the Chael rumor had any substance, it certainly follows that he wouldn't be in custody right now.

Like I said in the other thread though. It's not that uncommon with young all time great champions. Tyson, Ray Leonard.. when you have a taste for hard drugs and you are the #1 fighter in the world -

I agree. Kind of strange considering the timeline of it all.. the only thing I'm thinking is that perhaps Chael had an inside source that knew for a fact Jones was STILL doing coke on a consistent basis and it was only a matter of time until this happened. Either something nuts like this or another drug test failure.
That's the only way it'd make sense to me.
He couldn't be that sure Jones would drop from the card, just on the general basis that his life is a mess could he? Or maybe he had firsthand accounts of Jon continuing la vida loca. That would be more specific info though.

What I don't get it if this is untrue etc, why hasn't this been shot down by Jones PR team / UFC etc?
They say there's no smoke without fire...so there's obviously a story here, but not as 'juicy' as expected

The thing is, Chael was 100% sure. If he just heard that Jon was still living it up, you'd think he'd say something more circumspect. But then, he is the type to be committal, and definitely doesn't care much about being wrong. So there's that.
