I made Spanish rice yesterday for work lunches for the week. It isn't much to look at, but it is one of those dishes that gets better and better as leftovers. It is basically just rice mixed with tomato sauce and spices and whatever else you want to add like ground meat, peppers, onion, tomato, etc. This one is just ground beef. I'll melt some cheese over it when I serve it and cook some veggies on the side.

It was one of my favorite meals growing up, and I haven't had it in a while, so I'm looking forward to lunches this week.

Venison is on the menu for dinner tonight.

Very nice, I like the charred finish on the veggies, done on the webber? Lets see the inside of the venison unless youve already inhaled it
Cooked on cast iron on the stove in a bit of oil with garlic, ginger, and scallions.

It's in my belly. I can take pics of it tomorrow if you wanna see that :)

Nah Ill be right, you reckon the way around my electric stove woes is to buy a cast iron plate? the heat on an electric stove pulses so its hard to get a good finish on a steak unless the steak isnt cold. Im thinking once heated the cast iron plate will retain the heat and that the pulses of heat wont cause much of a fluctuation.

Might take a drive to the boating, camping and fishing store later today

Pic of stove please, mines a relatively new one that has this heat pulsing bullshit system I know those older ones are better not sure what yours looks like

It is some Whirlpool model. New enough, and it has that crap too. It took me a while to figure out how to get a consistent simmer out of it the first time I cooked beans on it because of that shit.
