The court proceedings can get drawn out for months regardless is guilty or not.

He will see a judge tomorrow and plea not guilty and bail will be set. He will get out tomorrow with all this looming over him.

This is correct. He had a 6 month license suspension and received a conditional discharge for staying out of trouble for a year.
