Isn't a cash only bond the same as $2500 bail? Or do I misunderstand.

It might differ from state to state however in Texas you have a bond, and then bail.

Bail is either 10% of your bond, and it's non-refundable. However if you pay the bond in full, as long as you don't skip out on your court date, it's fully refundable.

Sometimes bond is determined on a person's criminal record and previous cases of jumping bond usually mean you have to pay the maximum bond which is 20% instead of 10%(not refundable)
