Noting business, just personal.

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez was paying close attention to the UFC 203 pay-per-view (PPV) event (results), which took place last weekend in Cleveland, Ohio. Not only did Stipe Miocic defend his title against Alistair Overeem, Fabricio Werdum went head-to-head with Travis Browne.

That means Velasquez is likely to get one of the two victors later this year.

"[Miocic] looked good, he moves around very well," Velasquez told UFC Tonight. "He's hard to put away. He's out there for the grind. If Stipe doesn't want a break, I want him. If he wants to fight in 2017, I'd like to fight Werdum in December. This is personal."

There is a lot about this that makes sense.

First Stipe needs a break. He had a busy 2016. Let him heal up abd rest up.

Second, Cain and Werdum are 1 & 2 and it makes sense from an eliminator perspective.

Third, who doesn't want to see Cain have the opportunity to avenge his worst performance ever?

I think Werdum beats Cain again, maybe this time by sub early. Lets not forget Werdum isnt afraid of Cains biggest weapon which is his wrestling. Werdum will do what he wants standing up and if he falls or Cain takes him down Cain will get right back up. Werdum will mess Cain up standing.

Apparently Cain took that ass whipping to heart and wants redemption.

Jds has a (close) win over Stipe anyway. Could always run that back.

I doubted Werdum the last time, I will not make that mistake again.

I think Cain took werdums criticism of his Spanish speaking abilities more personal than the loss itself. His whole team kinda took that to heart and even rockhold wanted a piece of werdum. Werdum came off really shitty and completely disrespectful throughout the entire build up.

I'm taking Cain if that happens. He won't take it to the ground until he's pressed Werdum against the cage and beaten him up enough that the submission is no longer the threat it would have been early in the fight.

I'll take Cain. Just because I think Cain, in nearly every fight other than that one, has looked like one of the best I've ever seen. And I'm still bitter about Werdum beating Fedor.

I guess I just dont see how based on Cains fighting style. I hope we are not really using the Travis "i fucking suck now under Edmond" fight as why some might say he will beat Werdum.
Cain is just a better all-around fighter. He's going to pick Werdum apart in the stand up.

People have to understand that the only reason Werdum won the first fight was because of the altitude, and I'm 100% serious about that.

surprised by this ,thought they would have had Cain set up for a title shot and just wait for Stipe
