no you were trying to put the hillary clinton spin on the numbers to promote your own agenda.aldo was the champ since the WEC he lost 1 fight since 2006 .conor beat him and went on to lose a fight to diaz win th rematch and now fight for a different tiltle .if he isnt coming back it is fucking over the whole division.if he is then what good is a champ who lost the next fight after winning his belt.now he wont come back and defend his title against the interim champ. the ufc has let this guy create such a fucking mess all in the name of money.it has ruined any aspect of sport there was left in mma.now what if he beats alverez? two weight classes get fucked over for the next year or 2?
Belts get held up all the time tho and Conor has proven he is an active fighter. I wish more champions would try for a second belt. I can understand the frustration of divisions been held up but at the same time how many times do we get to see champ vs champ faceoff. Im all for it since it nevers happens.

Awesome

Will definitely be intently watching one of the first real superfights in a long time. That said, they need to decide what's gonna happen at FW quick smart.

It's good that the fight is happening in about 6 weeks or so, so it's relatively quick, but if Conor wins he either needs to relinquish or defend FW title.

It's no different than the election. If you have the money and/or draw the masses, you're first in line.

What's going to happen if Conor loses against Eddie? Is he going back down to 145? Win or lose, Jose deserves a rematch next.

Awesome analogy.

Well done Mr Gohan

Eddie is a bit chinny ... thinking Mcgregor by KO/TKO in the first or second but if he doesn't get it done early Eddie is gonna be all over him

Both you and jason73 @jason73 have good arguments. Objectively there's a case for him defending his belt first and then take the superfight. But that's if the objective measure is rankings. If the objective measure is a contract clause or making money then that's another story.

Money, obviously. Even the UFC isn't hiding that.. and it happened to out-sell every PPV before it. What's the crime there, and who exactly should the UFC be answering to if not the demand of the fans?
Fans have been demanding the Aldo rematch.... Hell fans are demanding the Diaz trilogy, and demanded a Frankie Edgar fight.... The only reason they made this fight is because they think that Conor can win, and they can resume promoting and marketing him as "The GREATEST Champion EVER!!!! (He's a two division champion)".

I hope Eddie beats Conor for this.

I'm glad we get to see if history can be made at MSG the first UFC event in New York. Shit will be crazy. It's going to be awesome, you all know that, just enjoy it.
