Interesting, it had the MMAfighting article about Oliveira still training at ATT and Brooks responding with, "not while I'm still there." Something about his "cheating ass coaches" and Oliveira himself. The tweet was deleted.
What did it say?!
Thanks.Interesting, it had the MMAfighting article about Oliveira still training at ATT and Brooks responding with, "not while I'm still there." Something about his "cheating ass coaches" and Oliveira himself.
Oliveira wants to move to welterweight but I think he owes Will the rematch. He was a good champ at Bellator so I'm excited to see ho far he can go in the UFC. They also signed the last guy he fought there (Bellator) Marcin Held so they may see each other before Oliveira and Brooks do.Thanks.
I am friends with someone who knows Will and his wife (friend lives in Coconut Creek), but he really didn't tell me anything more than they spoke and he's hoping to heal up quick so they can have a rematch.
As it seems noone is entitled to a rematch these days unless your name is conor and you have the UFC president hanging from your balls. I think Will needs to just heal up put it past him and move on, I am not sure this rematch would draw much attention.Oliveira wants to move to welterweight but I think he owes Will the rematch. The real reason? Butthurt imo. Will is great and I know he hurt his rib, but why a rematch? Oliveira hurt Brooks' rib with an effective knee. It's not like it was a freak injury. I am not flat out disagreeing with you guys but I would like to hear the case for a rematch.
I'm sure this has a lot to do with it, as well as the little post-fight spat. The real reason? Butthurt imo.
That's how you get fights cancelled. If you take their entire purse they are fighting for free. Who is gonna do that? I think the current way of handling it is the only way to go, unless you start taking a little bit more money but absolutely nobody is going to fight for free.If you miss weight they should take your entire purse and any win bonus and give it to your opponent
Then cancel it and fine the guy who missed weight twice his show money.....That's how you get fights cancelled. If you take their entire purse they are fighting for free. Who is gonna do that? Then the guy who he was supposed to fight is effectively robbed of his chance to move up in the division. There really is no way that they can solve this and it be perfect, but it should be completely at the discretion of the fighter who didn't miss weight. If he wants to fight, you fight. If you fight, you have to pay the guy that missed weight. You can pay him less, but you can't force a fighter to fight for free. Then cancel it and fine the guy who missed weight twice his show money.....
Missing weight, might as well not make weight, add 20 lbs extra and beat the shit out of your sapped opponent and pay the 20 percent.....Then the guy who he was supposed to fight is effectively robbed of his chance to move up in the division. That's obviously a bit of a stretch, and that's why it is the opponent's discretion as to whether or not to fight. If he comes in 20 over I doubt the opponent would okay it, and I doubt the commission would allow it.Missing weight, might as well not make weight, add 20 lbs extra and beat the shit out of your sapped opponent and pay the 20 percent.....
i agree with you, over weight should be a harsher penalty, whether its .5lbs or 5 lbs overIf you miss weight they should take your entire purse and any win bonus and give it to your opponent
