It's not a matter of how many UFC fighters would like a better deal and are ready to sign with Bellator; the problem is how much money has Bellator ? Big names and interesting projects will stay with UFC, some middle to low level fighters may end up in Bellator.

^^don't know the specifics but maybe someone like Nate Quarry could be asked that question on the Q and A? I doubt it, but then savateur's comments come into play....

I think if you are a name, but not getting paid significant amounts in your contract, but traditionally picked up a decent amount in sponsorships, then Bellator is looking like an attractive prospect right now. Perhaps guys like Joe Lauzon, Brendan Schaub, Nate Diaz.

It'll be interesting to see if Viacom opens their purse up.

I think there may be more than mid level guys going. Phil Davis may have cleared the path for many others. I think bellator will be able to spend as much Viacom money as needed to get good guys. The problem will be that people are tied in to the UFC contracts with no way out. They will have to finish however many fights left on their deal before they can leave. I just wonder if UFC will start not offering guys fights if they are at the end of the contract and suspected to leave. Better to keep them in lingo for as long as possible than let them fini the contract and leave. Maybe they won't with this whole lawsuit going on though. It would be awesome to see more high level guys get better deals with bellator.

Hopefully every single one that can get out of their UFC contract. Remember when Dana said Bellators contracts were criminal, and guys couldn't get out of them? Lulz.

Bellator doesn't pay their fighters well. Manhoef has 40 fights and hes's making 10-15k a fight. That's a joke.

can they opt out of their contract if they do not like this deal?
I don't know US laws, but if there is a line in there contract about allowing sponsorship and if it's specified in allowing to get your own apparel sponsors.
Than this could be easily defended in court as breach of contract, but the next question is would a fighter ever do that, better believe that he'll never fight in a ufc octagon again and the problem now is there is where the biggest paydays are not as big as they should be in my opinion

If people do start heading over to Bellator, Dana will no longer have a good relationship with Coker and he will try to bury them or buy them out.

I like Bellator, Lately I'm edging away from UFC much more and getting better entertainment(within reason) from other promotions such as Bellator. However, Bellator could benefit from this deal big time, you see instead of the UFC losing fighters and gaining a bad relationship, Bellator will get all them prospects and hotshots that were offered contracts from the UFC, but just didn't want to lose sponsors so opted to go there instead. Big opportunity for Bellator to get some serious coverage now with some bigger names than there already is.

My guess is that's a deal negotiated when Bjorn was there, and Coker will rework that before he fights again. That's not how Coker rolls.

I want everyone to jump ship as soon as they can. Also hope Bellator gets all the top prospects to go there. I want Bellators star to rise and rival UFC in talent. Let's hope this bullshit Reebok deal comes back to bite Zuffa in the ass.

Coker took over in June 2014. Manhoef was signed at the end of July and has fought 3 times since then. His first fight he won and made 10k.

Well something is way off there then. I don't get that at all.

Dos Anjos would maul Gaethje. Gaethje is good, but he doesn't move his head and likes to play the you hit me, I hit you game. That won't cut it with the top 5, no matter how hard you hit, or how tough you are.
