He won't cut Hunt. He's one of the few people in MMA with proven walk off KO power.

Dana will get someone else to cut him and then never talk about it and the media will be too afraid to ask him what happened like the Burt Watson situation.

I think he set the bar pretty low when he turned on GSP who was his biggest money maker and was always a company man who was loyal.

I dont think anyone is safe at this point.

Mark Hunt is 41... He is coming to his final days in the UFC of course and is a legend. However his record isn't immaculate. If he wins I'd say 1 or 2 more fights. If he loses I doubt he will be cut but more "encouraged" to retire.

Hunt was looking great in his fight against Werdum before he got caught with the knee. I have faith that he'll be able to have a good showing against Miocic tonight too. I'd be kind of bummed to see a guy like him cut. Heavyweight needs all the guys they can get as it is.

I'd like to think Dana/UFC know that there are too people invested in Hunt's career renaissance to cut him plus like others have said he has highlight reel KO potential, which is always good to have at their disposal. Even if that means putting Mark up against some can, gonna look good on advertising etc.

Dude maybe a few years ago, but Dana would never cut Hunt now. The HW division sucks, Hunt is a main or co main guy on every show, a ton of fun to watch for everyone, and that fight against Bigfoot Silva, I mean, come on!!

Get into a large enough contract dispute with Bullhornman and he will cut anyone.

He'd cut his own kids from a family softball team if one dollar was on the line.

I think it may prove the opposite, they don't seem to care about HW and have a mostly unusable top 5 as contenders while JDS still fights, I don't think he values much of anything at HW right now as is proof on not pushing any fights or trying much of anything.

Cain is their Mexican flag bearer and if he doesn't fight they more or less seem to shutdown the division unless they are going to one of the popular guys "Home areas"

Only reason is a contract dispute Dana won't budge on, that's the only reason I think he would cut any popular fighter, but I think the contracts are the line that no one can hardline on with them.

Other than that no, he likely never would, as long as they resolve the contracts. Like has been said, Hunt was almost cut during the last contract dispute.

Yeah I forgot about that. If they cut him, they can suck a dick. I can't stand the UFC anyway. Always watch, but hate what's behind the curtain.

Fuck it, let Hunt go to Bellator and make way more money and knock fools out on Spike TV. I'd be happy to see it. He could do one offs in GLORY too

The Viacom fighting enterprise sure looks a lot sweeter these days.. instead of getting paid $5k from Reebok..
