You might be accidentally inducing the destruction yourself. Dogs should sleep, like a lot. If they don't they're like a toddler that hasn't slept (Ie, a complete fucking pain in the ass.) Over stimulation can be a problem for dogs, especially ones in new situations. Dogs are pretty adaptable but they need sometime to settle in. She just had her entire life pulled out from under her and replaced with a new one.

@Alienator gave you great advice. Punishments don't usually work very well per say. Usually they lead to an aggressive dog.

My amstaff was a stray before i got her. She had loads of kids play with her. Never one issue.

I found that negative reinforcement didn't really do shit except for one time. During the "getting to know you" phase I took her bone and she snapped at me. I snatched her up by the scruff of her neck and we had a "come to Jesus" talk. She never batted an eye if i took her food after that.

Plenty of praise, keep her full, keep her excercised, keep her entertained.

Hopefully you get it squared away homie. It'll take a while so be patient. It's a stubborn breed.

Yeah Onyx is great with the kids, just wants to cuddle them but shes a bitch with me.

I took her a pork bone earlier and asked her to sit, she did first time I asked so I praised her.

I then took her another and she must have been full and wouldnt sit so I didnt give it to her.

Then I tied her up to a fence post and gave her a cold water spritz could she was starting to smell (washed her properly on Sunday) and Ive left her tied up there cause its the only warm sunny part of the yard. She is now sitting whenever I walk past even when I dont ask her to, I literally walk to the back door and she sits down lol

I really don't remember what prompted it now, but for some reason we shortened up her walks and saw almost an immediate improvement in her behavior. An over tired dog doesn't listen worth a fuck. They really are like toddlers. Except they don't sass you back or complain about their food.

I let my son sleep with her on the couch, they both seem so peaceful, she even does little patrols of downstairs when he's sleeping down there but after seeing what she did to those bones Im not gonna let them hang out alone she could literally rip his head off if she wanted.
