The only good thing I can see from this.. is over the next 5 years... BIG names like we never saw before might leave, guys in their prime like when Hendo left to go to SF. He was coming off his UFC 100 win over Bisbing, was ranked as the #1 contender and was next for a title shot. He he was the hottest name in the sport free agent wise since Fedor had already signed with SF (another power move).

Hendo didn't like the UFC's offer.. so he left. What happened later is one thing, but that was a big move that immediately got eyeballs on SF and gave them more credibility. They suddenly had the 2nd best MW in the world, who had just pulled off the most epic KO in recent history on the UFC's biggest show ever.

It's obvious that a lot of newer and mid tier guys are not please about this as evident on Twitter/interviews - now imagine how many of them are being silent about it? A VERY small percentage actually has the balls to say anything in public.. I just can't imagine people being pleased about this.

Even the biggest name champions. Just as an example/.. a f few years ago, Anderson was sponsored by Burger King and it was one of the most lucrative/$$$$$$ sponsorships ever in MMA at the time

Now if he were to come around and get that offer, for all that money.. he would have to say no

Someone tell me how this is good again?

I hope fighters are beginning to talk to one another behind the scenes, and coming up with a plan.

Reebok and The UFC have already changed the structure once. From Rankings to tenure impacting the amount of sponsored money per fight. With all of this bad p.r. I can see another change coming. What changes? I have no clue, but change needs to happen.

I can appreciate that the UFC wants to make their brand more professional. The look and integrity of Zuffa to be on the level of other major sports. They've done a great job with the insurance and putting on shows every other week so more fighters make money. That's one reason fighters jumping ship to Bellator won't work until they can put on shows more often.

Whatever happens, they need to change this pay structure for sure. Its appalling.

they should band together and go on strike or something.
if they could afford to strike, the ufc would be fucked. they can't just cancel their reebok contract to get the fighters back, and they couldn't make money to support the casinos, and their high priced lawyers.

Like i said, the fighters should come out wearing the anon mask for their entrances. Thats all they are now.

that would scare the living fuck out of them. just think if anonymous got their info, and plastered the interwebs with their secrets, and dirty emails.

Could they wear a boiler suit on top of the reebok gear ala Lee Murray? No sponsor names, so shouldn't be an issue?
