Good stuff! Even Abe LOL

A better description of Deadly Class:

Deadly Class Volume 1: Reagan Youth TP

"Deadly Class is a solid read for those who want a combination of Mark Millar's Wanted and Harry Potter with Garth Ennis's (Preacher) style." - Library Journal (Starred) "A good start to a wicked series." -- Booklist It's 1987. Marcus Lopez hates school. His grades suck. The jocks are hassling his friends. He can't focus in class. But the jocks are the children of Joseph Stalin's top assassin, the teachers are members of an ancient league of assassins, the class he's failing is "Dismemberment 101," and his crush has a double-digit body count. Welcome to the most brutal high school on earth, where the world's top crime families send the next generation of assassins to be trained. Murder is an art. Killing is a craft. At Kings Dominion School for the Deadly Arts, the dagger in your back isn't always metaphorical. Collecting the first arc of the most critically acclaimed new series of 2014, by writer Rick Remender (Black Science, Fear Agent) and rising star artist Wesley Craig (Batman).

Rereading American Flagg by Chaykin. Absolutely brilliant work.
I should at some point reread this. Chaykin is one of the Masters

AF along with Grimjack and Jon Danel, Freelance put First Comics on the map

1980's was a wonderful time for comics geeks

Loved Warren Ellis and Declan Shale on Moon Knight. Sad to see them do only 6 issues. Ellis said he would only do 6

As a fan of their work on MK I was heartbroken. However I didn't take the big picture into view. I was too myopic. I should have seen the world from their eyes

MK is a Marvel property and whatever stories they create belongs to Marvel

For their next project, I'm so glad they worked on a creator-owned project called Injection published by Image. #1 just came out and it's typical Ellis quirky type stories like in Fell, Gravel, Global Frequency and Moon Knight

If you are an Ellis and/or Shalvey fan, check out Injection!

Here's the solicitation writeup:

Writer: Warren Ellis / Pencils/Inks: Declan Shalvey / Colorist: Jordie Bellaire

Once upon a time, there were five crazy people, and they poisoned the 21st Century. Now they have to deal with the corrosion to try and save us all from a world becoming too weird to support human life.

INJECTION is the new ongoing series created by the acclaimed creative team of Moon Knight. It is science fiction, tales of horror, strange crime fiction, techno-thriller, and ghost story all at the same time. A serialized sequence of graphic novels about how loud and strange the world is getting, about the wild future and the haunted past all crashing into the present day at once, and about five eccentric geniuses dealing with the paranormal and numinous as well as the growing weight of what they did to the planet with the Injection.

Iron fist was a great read. I wasn't interested in one or two of the stand alone other iron fist stories. If i was reading monthly, it would have been more appealing, but reading it as an all in one story, I wanted to see what was coming next. great backstory and fleshing out of the iron fist.

Just picked up the Trinity TPB by Chaykin and Garcia-Lopez. Looks like it's going to be good. Gorgeous artwork.

I recently started the graveyard shift and read two Jack Ketchum novels in two nights. I did Off Season last night and The Woman this morning. Both gruesome and dark. These are the only books of his I've read, so I'm curious to see if all of his stuff has a similar tone.
