right now I am reading The Terror. I love true survivalist horror novels.

The Terror is a 2007 novel by American author Dan Simmons.[1] The novel is a fictionalized account of Captain Sir John Franklin's lost expedition of HMS Erebus and HMS Terror to the Arctic to force the Northwest Passage in 1845–1848. In the novel, while Franklin and his crew are plagued by starvation and scurvy and forced to contend with mutiny and cannibalism, they are stalked across the bleak Arctic landscape by a monster.[2]

The characters featured in The Terror are almost all actual members of Franklin's crew, whose unexplained disappearance has warranted a great deal of speculation. The main characters in the novel include Sir John Franklin, commander of the expedition and captain of Erebus, Captain Francis Crozier, captain of Terror, Dr Harry D.S Goodsir, and Captain James Fitzjames.[3]

The Terror was nominated for the British Fantasy Award in 2008.[4]

Kaare Andrews gave major props to Jim Steranko as a creator who did it all. Marvel let Andrews have 12 issues of Iron Fist. Read vol 1 of Iron Fist - The Living Weapon: Rage and i like it. Andrews' art is different but it seems to flow with the story. Like that some of his pages look like it's been folded a few times. Pretty innovative imo.

Will start issues #7-11, #12 should drop soon.

Covers Iron Fist's origin and him going back to Kun Lun to save it.

Just finished The Short, Tragic Life of Robert Peace. Nonfic story of brilliant dude raised in Newark ghetto who went to Yale on scholarship, and what happens in his life as his circumstances fail to align with his dreams. Very sad, but oddly shallow portrait by Peace's college roommate who came from very different background. Couldn't shake uncomfortable feeling that rich white aspiring writer was using poor black roommate's tragic life as surefire hit material.

Will read shortly...

The Private Eye is a science fiction mystery comics series written by Brian K. Vaughan, drawn by Marcos Martín and colored by Muntsa Vicente.

The series is set in 2076, a time after "the cloud has burst", revealing everyone's secrets. As a result, there is no more Internet, and people are excessively guarded about their identity, to the point of appearing only masked in public. Everyone in the United States has a secret identity. The story follows an unlicensed journalist, a "paparazzo", outlaw private investigators who dig up the kind of personal dirt no longer readily available through search engines. It’s a mystery with lots of masks, but no superpowers.

Sounds like it'd make a great movie script tbh

In the middle of Deadly Class Volume 1 now, written by Rick Remember and drawn by Wes Craig

It's based in the 1980's, about a high school teaching the deadly arts

All the students are children of the Mafia, Yakuza, etc Except the protagonist who is off the streets that one of the teachers sees something in him

Next!
That sounds pretty dope. Drawn, though? It's a graphic novel?

Conn Iggulden The Wolf of the Plains. It's a dramatised version of the life of Genghis Khan. First in the series and it is fucking tremendous.
