You sir are class. No I sat politely and clapped with the program still in one hand and shouting bravo, bravo!
I'm probably gonna have to put a bunch of insulation in the attic soon. Old lady wants me to floor the mufugger. Imma gonna have to take my sweet ass time with a job that big.put up some fibreglass netting on the walls I'm set to replaster, spoke to no one, and did some thinking.
you ever do flooring before?I think it's about 1200 sq feet i'll have to floor. By myself. With a bad back.
...oh yeah i'm gonna take my sweet ass time.
I assisted with it. Once. FUCK!you ever do flooring before?
I told her verbatim, "If i do this, you better not try to rush me. If you try to rush me i'll set this whole bitch on fire."I assisted with it. Once. FUCK!
I gotta be real, i'm not looking forward to it. I've been doing a shit load of research though. Imma go real slow, take my time, and make sure it's done right.
I bet you're looking forward to the part when things go wrong and you get to swear up a stormI assisted with it. Once. FUCK!

Yeah, i think i figured out the plan of attack. The insulation that's already up there is the blown kind, it's low, and i'm going to have to re insulate. I'm going to get R38 insulation and place it above the pre-existing blown shit to get it up to "code". I'll have to see if it'll free fit or if i'll need to frame the motherfucker. If i have to frame it, it's going to be a lot more expensive and a lot more time consuming, but whatever. The long run will make the home's resale value spike like crazy. After i (possibly) frame it, insulate it, sub-floor and floor it, it should make a huge difference in our home's power bill. That shit is currently unsat.I bet you're looking forward to the part when things go wrong and you get to swear up a storm
Hopefully it goes as planned, the research part is hard without actually doing it, eh?
What kind of flooring are you thinking about?Yeah, i think i figured out the plan of attack. The insulation that's already up there is the blown kind, it's low, and i'm going to have to re insulate. talk to me like I'm 5 years old, you're talking about framing walls or ceiling for insulation or for the floor? if it's the floor then I'm already lostYeah, i think i figured out the plan of attack. Sub flooring, then 3/4" plywood for now. We'll revisit it once that gets done as to what she wants it to be up there. Carpet might be nice. Not sure though. I haven't researched that far ahead yet. What kind of flooring are you thinking about?
If you mentioned this already, I missed it.
The insulation can't have anything laying on top of it, (like, squishing it or it'll ruin the point) but it can have something covering it. So if it won't fit between the already existing rafters, i'd need to build something the flooring can lay on top of without squishing the insulation.talk to me like I'm 5 years old, you're talking about framing walls or ceiling for insulation or for the floor? if it's the floor then I'm already lost
I both love and hate cabela's.Just got back from cabela's. Walked the deer room, held some guns and bought a new depth finder for the boat. I wore a flannel too
got it...that'll raise the floor level, won't it?The insulation can't have anything laying on top of it, (like, squishing it or it'll ruin the point) but it can have something covering it. We chose perfo flooring at our last place because we knew we were going to sell. I have hardwoods now. But i don't have one bad thing to say about the pergo floor. Easy to clean, holds up under high traffic, and snaps together, fairly easy to cut. Easy enough that I helped. Lol. And it looks good.Sub flooring, then 3/4" plywood for now. Yes, slightly. Depends on what the level is up there. I haven't even been up there to measure yet. Just poked my head around a bit. This is all still in the reconnaissance phase.got it...that'll raise the floor level, won't it?
