I'm using the term "plot hole" facetiously. But I figured we could all share the little things in movies that bug the shit out of us. spoilers ahead

The Godfather

In the "do you renounce Satan?" parallel action sequence: Clemenza would have a fucking heart attack from climbing up all those stairs.

Good Will Hunting

His friends buy him a car for his birthday AND he gets a new job so he's not laying brick or janitoring at MIT.

But then they show the scene of them going to pick him up and he's not there. Ben Affleck knocks on the door, and looks through the window. And then he smiles. Because it's a callback to when he says "the best part of my day is walking to your door and I think maybe you won't be there." And then it happens!

BUT, why is he picking him up?! They don't work together anymore and he has his own car now.

The Usual Suspects

This one really bugs me and is hard to explain to hotheads. Kobayashi is a real dude. Gus Fring even mentions the lawyer Kobayashi by name to Cujan. So why the fuck was it on the bottom of his coffee cup. Verbal DIDN'T make that part up. So wtf.

House of Flying Daggers

Zhang Yiyi is blind in the movie, until we find out she is faking. Andy Lau is a sheriff or cop or whatever lawmen they had back in those times trying to catch her...until we find out they're lovers.

So they have this long drawn out duel in a brothel. And even when the only people left in the building are the two of them, she still acts likes she's blind and he still duels with her.

There are other similar situations in other movies where it's like hey no one else is around you're only faking because you don't want to spoil it for the audience

XMen: DoFP

At the end, Wolverine is captured by Stryker, but then his eyes glow yellow indicating that he's Mystique, but then he still ends up capturing Wolverine for the Weapon X project somehow. Why not just have it be the real Stryker?

I like to pretend this one is because she can turn her eyes off with kung fu magic and does so as to heighten her other senses.

There's another movie I won't spoil where something similar is the case

The dark knight:

When he uses lasers to recreate the projectile fragments in the wall so he could get fingerprints from it.

the fingerprints he leaves from loading it in the magazine would be on the casing, not the actual bullet. There would be a partial fingerprint at best.

Everyone knows that you load a clip by holding the tip of the bullet and not the casing.

Looper:

Joseph Gordon Leavitt shoots himself at the end, making his future self (Bruce Willis) disappear, but if he shoots himself then he'd never be able to come back and cause problems in the first place.

Unless they're gonna go with an alternate timeline theory, but then if they did that then Bruce Willis wouldn't disappear.

I might be wrong on this one, but...

Karate Kid

Are you actually allowed to kick someone in the face in point karate? When Danny crane-kicked that dude, why wasn't he DQ'd?

Maybe the ref didn't see it. He looks confused.

I second that notion.I could not name a ping pong Olympian, Medal of Honor recipient, shrimp boat millionaire, watergate person (other than deepthroat who real name I don't know) or all American football guy or someone who runs coast to coast (there has to be someone who's done it) and I live in the digital age.

He was using the "Quicksilver Method", he was aiming for his opponent's chest. It's
not Danny's fault the guy ran into his foot.

Because she's locked in. That seems pretty straightforward. Probably keyholes on both sides. It's a mental hospital, not a bedroom.

Yeah a mental institution with the highest of advanced security had some drunk contractor come in and install the doors backwards.

Why didn't I think of that? I must be mentally handicapped.

Dude... Keyholes on both side, zero accessible latches. You need a key to get in and out.
