Doesn't sound that bad to me, it's not like the first one is eliminated from memory now that they're remaking it.
Does anyone remember that karate kid movie with Jayden Smith? Of course not. It was a payday vehicle for him. No one even noticed Annie last year. These remakes don't usually stay in the collective memory. The karate kid will always be ralph macchio. Annie will always be white. BTILC will always star... who was it again? Harrison Ford?

It wont be eliminated from our memories because we have seen these movies years ago and grew up on them. However, there is a younger generation out there growing up with Jayden Smith as their Karate kid and now they will have a different version of Johnny Utah in Pointe Break and the fucking Rock as Jack Burton. Our kids are never going to realize how good our favorite movies are because they'll be exposed to the remakes first. They are diminishing the value of a classic in order to cash in and that sucks donkey dick imo!

while i agree in spirit, they will have the same affinity for these remakes as we had for the originals... at the time.
having said that, when i have kids i will carefull curating their movie playlists. no child of mine will see a movie with the fucking ROCK in it.

They shouldnt remake fantastic originals like this and Karate Kid.

Most of the truck drivers I encounter are either insanely obese and wearing tank tops and huge cell phone headsets or their insanely skinny with greasy pony tails and obviously loaded up with every kind of legal and illegal form of speed they can get their hands on.

He loved it. The kung fu fights and all.
Still holds up pretty well.
Fuck remaking this.
