Donald Trump welcomes Egypt President Sisi to White House despite human rights concerns
US President Donald Trump has moved to reset relations with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi after the Obama administration's strained ties, giving him firm backing and vowing to work together to fight Islamic militants.

"I just want to let everybody know in case there was any doubt that we are very much behind President Sisi," Mr Trump said during an Oval Office meeting with the Egyptian leader.

The trip was Mr Sisi's first official US visit since being elected President in 2014 — Mr Trump's predecessor Barack Obama never extended an invitation citing concern over Mr Sisi's human rights record.

Human rights groups have estimated that Mr Sisi's government has detained at least 40,000 political prisoners and oversaw the killing of some 1,000 anti-Sisi protesters in August 2013, effectively shutting down the country's Arab Spring movement.

Mr Sisi's government also presided over the arrest and trial of Australian journalist Peter Greste and his two Al Jazeera colleagues.

Human Rights Watch's executive director Kenneth Roth slammed Mr Trump's open-armed welcoming of the controversial Egyptian president.

"Sisi killed 817+ at Rabaa, tortures many, detains 10,000s, but Trump says he has 'a great friend & ally in the US'," he wrote on Twitter.

Theresa May warns Donald Trump against unilateral action on North Korea
May has warned Donald Trump against taking unilateral action against North Korea, arguing that the US president should instead try to work with international organisations and partners.

Ahead of a summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping later this week, Mr Trump warned at the weekend that “if China is not going to solve North Korea, we will”.

But Mrs May on Monday said that such threats were not helpful.

"I think what is crucial - and where we have been working, and will continue to work through the United Nations Security Council, through resolutions which we have supported there, and with the United States - is to encourage China to look at this issue of North Korea and to play a more significant role in terms of North Korea,” she said.

"I think that's where our attention should focus."

Donald Trump changes trust rules to allow him take money from business without telling US public
Donald Trump has apparently changed the rules of the trust overseeing his business empire so that he can withdraw money at any time without telling the public.

Days before his inauguration on January 20, Mr Trump held a press conference in New York where he introduced a lawyer who outlined what he claimed was a trust that would protect against any allegations of a conflict of interest.

Mr Trump said he would turn over operational control of the Trump Organisation to his two eldest sons, abstain from new deals with foreign partners, refrain from discussing company matters and appoint an independent ethics adviser. His lawyer, Sherri Dillon, said Mr Trump wanted "there to be no doubt in the minds of the American public that he is completely isolating himself from his business interests”.

Yet critics and ethics experts said what he established fell short of building a genuine barrier between Mr Trump’s business holdings, and his role as the president.

Now, it has emerged that Mr Trump, or his lawyers, changed the wording of a trust document to allow him to remove money from any of his more than 400 businesses, at any time, and without disclosing it.

Trump Donates First-Quarter Salary to National Park Service
President Trump, who promised to work for free, donated his salary for the first quarter of the year on Monday to the National Park Service, which, like other government agencies, faces major cuts in the president’s first budget proposal.

At the daily White House briefing, Sean Spicer, the president’s press secretary, presented a check signed by Mr. Trump for $78,333.32 to Ryan Zinke, the interior secretary, who oversees the park service. “I’m thrilled,” Mr. Zinke said.

I laugh that people are actually surprised the previous administration were 'keeping an eye' on Trump. The guy was boarder line obsessed with Obama and his birth certificate, I am sure the secret service had a large file on Trump.

As for the wiretapping claims, still no evidence Obama ordered any wire tapping.

Susan Rice Sought Names of Trump Associates in Intel
Rice's requests to unmask the names of Trump transition officials do not vindicate Trump's own tweets from March 4 in which he accused Obama of illegally tapping Trump Tower. There remains no evidence to support that claim.

Now, according to a former national security official, Trump associates were not the sole focus of Rice's request, but they may have been revealed when she asked to understand why they were appearing in intelligence reports. However, Rice did not spread the information according to this former official, who insisted that there was nothing improper or political involved.

Rep. Devin Nunes: Yeah, I’ve never heard of that happening before and as I’ve said many times the only crime that has been committed here is that one and it’s quite clear that it was a crime…

Sean Hannity: And in the case of any type of leak that would be a violation of the espionage act. That would be a felony. That would be five years potentially in prison?

Rep. Devin Nunes: That’s correct and it appears that that happened.
