I think floyd is going for $100m guaranteed + ppv points. Apparently ufc gets 50% of conor's money, so if they are willing to shell out "x" and then claiming it will be $75m after buys, he is only getting half of that, then ufc also gets whatever they work out for promoting the fight as well.

I bet conor is holding out on marrying his gf until this fight is over, similar to russell wilson divorcing his wife prior to getting his big contract. These guys aren't dumb.

He can't leave the ufc while he holds a belt. If he retires then he still is locked under contract for quite a few years and apparently can't participate in other combat sports during that time. If he is on his last fight and loses, then he can leave, but if he loses, the Mayweather fight is no longer going to be on the table. He can either fight the contract in court in hopes that a judge will side with him in reference to boxing (and the ufc would appeal, and it would be a long process), or he can do as the ufc says. He's stuck.
If he sits long enough maybe the belts can be stripped and he can take a couple non-title fights just to escape.

For the Mayweather fight to happen, it needs to be soon since the longer floyd is out, the less interested he will be in returning. If conor sits to get strippeed, then fights non-title fights to fight out his contract, we are looking at a couple years down the line. Public will not have the same interest, and without a belt, mayweather won't have interest in the fight. On top of that, the ufc wouldn't give him non-title fights since they know he is the money maker and would likely see through what he is doing.
