According to Brazilian outlet Combate, the UFC is considering Ovince St-Preux at a 195 pound catchweight for Anderson Silva’s UFC 212 opponent.
Two weeks ago the UFC went down to Rio de Janeiro to hold a media day for UFC 212, set to be held in the Brazilian city on June 3rd. In attendance: headlining featherweight champ Jose Aldo and interim champ Max Holloway, plus a number of other fighters on the card. Anderson Silva was there as well, but unfortunately his opponent was not. That's because the guy he was originally slated to fight, Kelvin Gastelum, ended up testing positive for marijuana metabolites and was pulled from the fight.
Anderson Silva ended up getting in front of the media and jokingly facing off against himself. But seriously, the UFC promised they were working on other options for "The Spider." But with Anderson turning down Luke Rockhold, options are dwindling and strange possibilities are beginning to appear in the press.
