What a shit show. It reads like the opposition / rebels will return to the peace talks tomorrow evening if the air strikes in areas they control.

Because most politicians are chickenshit. They placate vs. taking a hard stand one way or another. Just my opinion.
Of the people in my life, most will be happier if their premiums go down. Tbd though, no one knows the real world effect yet obviously. It's got to get through the senate first. I'm happier, because I choose to pay the fine vs. not carrying useless high deductible insurance...that will be gone as far as I know.
I could be wrong but I think the 'fine' will just now be built into your costs when you eventually have to re sign up for medical insurance. It will happen eventually you will need to get some medical and when you do, instead of a fine, your premiums will just have a 'previously uninsured' fee built into it.
(Or at least that is what I think was first proposed)
Yeah well I don't plan on signing up. I haven't had health insurance in 13 years by choice. I pay cash as I go. If at some point I do, I'd prefer a catastrophic plan. I don't need government oversight on my office visits and such.
That seems so crazy to me as a Canadian.
I need something done, I get it done. I dont have to break the bank or worry about paying if I get sick.
It might take a bit longer to get shit done but it gets done.
Because healthcare is industrialized just like our prison system here. It's a money grab each step of the way. It is very hard to insure that. Also, insurance goes through work here. The costs need to go down before we can have a similar healtcare insurance on par with Australia or European countries.
Obamacare is a parody, Trump care is a lighter version of that, but it is not going anywhere. Nor do I expect improvements anytime soon. Too much money to be made. Industries control politicians who control us.
I haven't broken the bank, and If you add up the premiums, $300ish(being conservative) average a month x 12 months x 13 years it's a no brainer to me. I've probably spent no more than $2000-$3000 out of pocket on Dr. and Rx costs in that time. It's not ideal if something major happens with my health, I'd probably have to resort to Credit Cards, but I'm a problem solver, I don't rely on others to figure my issues out for me.
My quality of life is great, if I need to see a doctor I do. There are practices that give you deep discounts if paying cash, you just have to do some research.
You guys are getting fucked all around year after year.
I don't understand why you don't all back Sanders push for medicare for all? Medicare sets the minimum prices currently in the U.S. system as it is the largest buyer, and insurance companies negotiate off it using medicare as a baseline, but are multiples on the cost of medicare. An increased medicare would be able to negotiate even lower costs, cut out a lot of the middlemen who raise the cost of healthcare, and you wouldn't be paying anymore than currently, mostly.
Obamacare is a bridge to Universal care. Even Obama made that clear when it was obvious Universal care wouldn't pass.
TrumpCare is worse than Obamacare on every single front. Even though it will fail, I kind of want it to pass so people can start dying from it.
Seeing how his supporters will be the ones most affected. There would be tremendous irony in that. Sad.
