I honestly don't know. It seems odd they'd break up a tag team for an angle that's destined to go nowhere.
I have trouble believing that a guy who knows his 3 brothers comes from an adopted family. So yeah, just a stupid way to break up a tag team.

Why is the Punjabi prison match a thing?
Great question. Tried to think of a rational reason, since its supposed to make sense and imply an advantage for someone. For example, Taker's gimmicky matches gave him an advantage (though he lost most of them). Hell in a Cell supports faces who fight bravely, Cage now gives advantage to cowardly heels who want to escape, but not as easy.
Punjabi Prison match gives no clear advantage for those who propose it. Khali was quite slow, and Jinder's a cowardly heel who has gotten his ass kicked by Orton multiple times, and has won both times....based off Orton leaving the ring. I guess because its made out of bamboo or something
and even in ones where no one is given an advantage due to the nature of the match (Carribean Strap Match anyone?) they at least make it sound like the guy who proposed it is experienced in them.
