I've not been keeping my eye on the fights for a long time but can, and I don't just mean who he was fighting, how he got paid so little?

I'm the BIGGEST Maia supporter so I'm always going to be upset about this but, please tell me why he didn't get 200, 300k for this fight?

If you look at his earnings per fights it's been horrid.

I'm still hurting, I will get over it but I think he deserves a bit more than what he earned for that fight.

Is it because he's a nice bloke who won't get involved in shit talk? He fucking earned his title shot. As well as he earned what happened to him in the UAE.

So what did he actually get paid then?, that would be a key piece of information surely?

He gets a flat rate which is bonus padded. 100k for every successful takedown

I agree completely, that is low for a no.1 contender that's been fighting as long as he has, its his own fault though if he finds that acceptable.

You gotta remember fellas. He gets paid in US greenbacks for fighting. That's cash on the barrel head and even a little of it it goes a very long way down South America way. He always seemed like a level headed guy to me, probably didn't want to ask for more than he needed.

"We're more like Major League Soccer, as far as financials go," White explained. "You fight three times a year, you make [$50,000 to show and $50,000 to win], you're making $300,000 a year fighting three times a year. I know you have to take jiu-jitsu and do all these other things, but we have the same thing. We don't just put on fights; we have overhead, too.
