Trump Reportedly Made Angry Phone Calls To Senators About Russia Investigation And Sanctions: Earlier this month, Trump called Senators Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) and Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) to complain about government investigations into Russian interference into the 2016 election and new sanctions against Russia, according to Politico. Tillis is working on a bill to protect special prosecutor Robert Mueller from any attempts Trump might make to fire him. "It seems he is just always focused on Russia," one senior GOP aide told Politico.

The stereotype of leftists and socialists on the right wing is one of spoiled losers, unemployed, listless, with no regard for economics or the law.

But just how true is this stereotype?

According to a public survey on Reddit’s r/socialism board, it’s painfully accurate. The survey was taken via Google Forms and asked the users a series of questions about their station in life and political views.

According to the survey – in which the results were self-admitted by the predominantly leftist users of the board – 48% of the young socialists (nearly half) are unemployed, and a stratospherically high number of 61% still live with their parents
Furthermore, the results found that 69% of the board’s users were uneducated, 46% (nearly half) support violent riots, and just 14% support the constitutional definition of unlimited free speech.

These percentages are both appalling and exactly what we expected at the same time.

After the results of the poll were posted, members of Reddit’s r/Drama quickly found and posted the numbers to mock /r/socialism. As to be expected, the proponents of socialism were shredded in the comments for fulfilling the exact stereotype that we had long since suspected to be true on the far left – they are unemployed, uneducated communist losers.

Sad!

This is not the first time that documentation of leftists being losers has been confirmed, as a study of Antifa activists in Europe confirmed that 9 out of 10 leftist protestors still live with their parents.

Ultimately, this goes to show why communist dimwits like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren are so heavily supported by young leftists – stupid candidates for stupid people.
It's reddit. Do that on any sub and it's full of students, unemployed, young living with parents. What you'll find in the UK is a combination of increasing house prices with stagnating wages that many are living with their parents much longer than in the past, and I think that would show true for the rest of Europe.

"We are Socialists, enemies, mortal enemies of the present capitalist economic system with its exploitation of the economically weak, with its injustice in wages, with its immoral evaluation of individuals according to wealth and money instead of responsibility and achievement, and we are determined under all circumstances to abolish this system!"
These are by early Nazi party official Gregor Strasser, printed in a 1926 pamphlet titled "Thoughts about the Tasks of the Future". That pamphlet attempted to appeal to ultranationalist movements on both the left and the right at a time when the Nazis were a fringe political party seeking to carve out as big a part of the German electorate as possible.

From the same pamphlet:
The spirit of our National Socialist idea has to overpower the spirit of liberalism and false democracy if there is to be a third Reich at all!Deeply rooted in organic life, we have realized that the false belief in the equality of man is the deadly threat with which liberalism destroys people and nation, culture and morals. violating the deepest levels of our being!

We have to reject with fanatical zeal the frequent lie that people are basically equal and equal in regard to their influence in the state and their share of power!People are unequal, they are unequal from birth, become more unequal in life and are therefore to be valued unequally in their positions in society and in the state!
As it happens, Hitler was not really a fan of Strasser’s ideas. While his efforts helped the Nazi’s with early electoral victories in the elections of 1928, his views became dangerously discordant with Hitler’s, and he was assassinated on Hitler’s orders in 1934.

The political milieu of Germany in the 1920s was a hotbed of political unrest and paramilitary violence that cannot easily fit into simple “left” and “right” binaries. Hitler’s use of “socialism” attempted to borrow the rhetorical devices of the left, but not the ideological ones.

References To Climate Change Removed From National Institutes Of Health Website: Several instances of the phrase "climate change" were either changed to simply read "climate" or removed altogether from a page operated by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS). When asked about the change, a spokesperson for NIEHS said "the information we provide remains the same."

White House: Trump Committed To Shutting Down Government If Border Wall Not Funded: During his Phoenix speech, President Trump threatened to force a government shutdown if Congress wouldn't agree to fund his border wall. On Thursday, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders saidthat Trump is indeed committed to that threat.

*But I thought Mexico was paying for the wall?

Trump Retweets Meme Showing Him Eclipsing Obama, Literally: In the midst of a (typo-riddled) morning tweetstorm, President Trump took a moment to retweet a supporter's tweet, which shows Trump (the moon) covering up Obama (the sun). It's unclear if Obama will return to office once Trump/the moon passes on:

White House Moves Forward With Transgender Military Ban: After the President announced the ban on Twitter last month, the White House is sending guidelines to the Pentagon on enacting the ban. The ban would bar new transgender enlistees and give Secretary of Defense James Mattis the power to remove currently serving transgender soldiers.

Trump Goes After James Clapper On Twitter: After the former Director of National Intelligence's vehement criticism of Trump after the Phoenix rally, Trump attacked Clapper on Tuesday morning, tweeting "James Clapper, who famously got caught lying to Congress, is now an authority on Donald Trump. Will he show you his beautiful letter to me?"

Russian Officials Made Additional, Previously Unreported Efforts To Connect Putin With Trump Campaign: CNN reports that Rick Dearborn, a former Trump campaign official and current deputy chief of staff in the White House, sent an email last year referring to a previously unreported effort by someone from "WV" — apparently West Virginia — to arrange a meeting between the Trump campaign and Russian President Vladimir Putin. It's unclear whether the meeting ever took place, although Dearborn's reference to the effort was reportedly skeptical. The newly reported email was among the 20,000 emails that the Trump campaign has handed over to congressional committees.

It was a dumb idea from the start (the wall) and he's going to have to go back on it just like he did last week by going balls deep into Afghanistan after promising to pull out!

The wall.

Repeal and replace.

America first.

Not the worlds police.

Tax reform.

Defeat ISIS.

Donald really is struggling to live up to his promises.

Trump Imposes New Sanctions On Venezuela: President Trump signed an executive order imposing strong new financial sanctions on Venezuela, which is descending into chaos as President Nicolás Maduro implements increasingly anti-democratic policies. The sanctions restrict Venezuela and its state-owned oil company from issuing debt or stock in US dollars. In a statement on the executive order, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said, "The United States reiterates our call that Venezuela restore democracy, hold free and fair elections, release all political prisoners immediately and unconditionally, and end the repression of the Venezuelan people."

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin May Have Taken Taxpayer-Funded Trip To Kentucky Just To See Eclipse: Mnuchin's trip to Kentucky burst into the public eye earlier this week when Mnuchin's wife, Scottish actor Louise Linton, posted a photo of herself looking glamorous next to a military jet in Kentucky and then went nuclear on a random commenter. Now, a watchdog group is filing a Freedom of Information Act request for records related to the trip on the suspicion that it was planned around Monday's solar eclipse. The Washington Post reports that Mnuchin and Linton viewed the eclipse from atop Fort Knox, along with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, and the group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) is requesting records to find out more about the motive for the trip. Treasury officials claim the trip was "official government travel."

Top Economic Adviser Drafted Resignation Letter After Trump's Charlottesville Remarks: Gary Cohn, the director of Trump's national economic council, reportedly drafted a resignation letter after Trump defended white nationalists marching in Charlottesville. He did not actually resign. Cohn, who is Jewish, said that Trump "can and must do better" in rebuking hate groups in an interview with the Financial Times.

John Kelly Is Trying To Limit The Amount Of Information Trump Receives: White House Chief of Staff John Kelly distributed two memos this week laying out a system "designed to ensure that the president won't see any external policy documents, internal policy memos, agency reports and even news articles that haven't been vetted" by Kelly or a staff secretary, according to Politico. The new system is an attempt to prevent Trump from acting on incomplete or one-sided information, according to The New York Times, and represents the first time that this administration has "codified rules and procedures that a White House typically sets at the outset of an administration."

Lets say this wall does go through, does his company put bids in to construct?
I think the bids on the wall have already been collected. I am not sure if they have yet selected the company... Or I guess they cant award the contract until the wall actually gets approved.

Anyone remember that press conference where Spicer put up those photos of the wall apparently starting construction... then the photos turned out to be repairs to a section of wall built under Obama's administration.

What's your opinion on California threatening to deny contracts to companies that win a bid to work on the wall?

California bill stops Trump border wall builders from getting state contracts
