I think he's right with that, although it has to be said that I think the advantages of running as a minority are greater than the draw backs. I believe there are more people who will support a black candidate based on his/her skin colour than there are who will go against them based on their skin colour. Case in point, Jesse Jackson Jr won his House race FROM A FUCKING MENTAL INSTITUTION. But in the grand scheme of things people are divided by class more so than race or any other factors.
